Overview of your Pristina tour

Mitrovica, situated in the North of Kosovo, is the town that was badly affected by the 1999 Kosovo War. Following several ethnic tensions, in 2013, the city is officially divided in Mitrovica South (with Kosovo Albanian Majority) and North (with Kosovo Serbian majority), separated by river Ibri (Ibar), becoming a symbol of Kosovo's ethnic divisions - but yet, an interesting place to visit and see. The city is famous for its mine called Trepça, rich in lead, zinc, silver, gold, crystals etc. , which has historically been one of Kosovo largest industries. It is the only city in Kosovo that has four rivers: Ibri, Sitnica, Lushta and Trepça. Traces of the city dates back to the Neolithic time, as many exhibit archeological exhibit pieces were found in archeological sites. It's a city of rock music, great artists, actors, and sportsmen.

The whole family hit it off immediately with Bekim. The trip was well-planned and we even had time to improvise. It was a very interesting trip and Bekim was clearly a man who knew a lot about the region, but also reflected on the various political issues. I can fully recommend the trip if you - as I - are interested in the northern part of Kosovo and the political questions. For families with smaller / younger children, be aware that you do spend a couple of hours in the car.

This was the first of 2 tours I did with Bekim. The communication in advance went perfectly, Bekim has answered quickly and has easily responded to my wishes (eg pickup at the airport, adjustments to the tour). And also during the tour itself Bekim has made suggestions on how to make the tour even more individual, so that it fits my interests. I learned many new things about Kosovo that I had no idea about before. This is exactly how an experience with a local guide should be.

Absolutely brilliant tour. Bekim's depth of knowledge and communication skills made this day one of the most memorable tours I've experienced. If you ever find yourself in Kosovo - do not miss out on this deep dive into history.

I would recommend both Bekim and this tour to anyone with an interest in the history of Kosovo. The day was carefully planned and we met very knowledgable colleagues of Bekim along the way to really enhance the experience. Bekim himself was marvellous company and facilitated my particular requirements (filming the trip for my Youtube channel). I will have no hesitation in taking another tour with Bekim next time I am in Pristina.

The tour was amazing. I am a graduate student of international relations and thought this was an amazing experience as I had all of my questions answered (and I asked questions the entire 8 hour tour haha). We saw all the important places and I gained a much better understanding and appreciation of Kosovo and the history and struggle it faced to get to where it is today (and what is left to be done). This was an amazing tour and if you are a political junky (or just love the Balkans) you will love it!
