Hello! I'm Bekim an independent professional guide, based in Prishtina, Kosovo. I am 41 years old, a graduate of Anthropology, with over 15 years of experience as a professional guide and cultural anthropologist. Because I love working with people, and I love my beautiful country, my job - which I do with passion - gives me a great pleasure every day. My job involves introducing individuals, small or large groups to Kosovo and its rich cultural heritage, intangible heritage, history, customs and traditions, rituals, traditional food, great landscapes and beautiful nature of Kosovo. In addition, many research and study trips that I conducted on Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology in different countries such as: Greece, Austria, Finland, England, USA, Poland, Sweden, France, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Germany, has helped broaden my understanding of anthropology and culture of other nations and countries, which I consider is an asset for me. Bekim was a fantastic tour guide - had a wonderful tour with him around Kosovo. I had always been fascinated by the history of Kosovo, and Bekim shared so much knowledge and passion about the country. Bekim took me to very special and local places which helped me understand the culture and history at a deeper level. Bekim was also very flexible, and was able to customize our 3-day trip based on my travel style and preference.
Absolutely loved my tour ! I cannot speak highly enough of Bekim, my three day tour was like hanging out with a long lost friend. He's full of knowledge but also really funny and outgoing. He changed my last day so I could go and visit the bear sanctuary which I really appreciated. There is not one thing that needed improving, it was the best tour I've ever had. Go and book a tour with this guy and enjoy beautiful Kosovo !
To say that Bekim is a guide is unfair, he is so much more than that. He is literally a curator at the Ethnological Museum of Kosovo. His knowledge and experience surpass any guide I've ever had. In addition, he is friendly, informative, and reliable. We left most of our itinerary and plans up to him, and had three amazing days. He had a good plan in mind, but he also adjusted it based on our interests, time, and energy. I can unconditionally recommend Bekim and guarantee that you will not be disappointed
Our three-day trip to Kosovo with Bekim was very interesting and informative. He took us to precious monasteries, a beautiful mosque, Jewish cemeteries, sites of old and recent conflict, a divided city, a once strategically important mine, caves, waterfalls and great restaurants. We learned about the tragic events that preceded Kosovo's independence, including the hardship that he and his family experienced. We strongly recommend Bekim as a guide.
Bekim is an absolutely fantastic guide and we very much enjoyed our three days of touring Kosovo with him. I would recommend him to anyone without reservation and in fact have recommended Kosovo to a friend as an ideal travel location based on the incredible time we had with Bekim. What a fantastic opportunity it was to have Bekim as a guide. While working at the ethnographic museum in Pristina, he brings a lot of information to the game, but in no way overwhelms a person. Easy going, light hearted, and funny, he made a three day road tour go by quickly, no awkward silences. If you're thinking of subjecting yourself to "The Grand" out of Communist era nostalgia, listen to Bekim, DON'T! Overall great man, look forward to working with him again when he puts together his new tours!
Day 1 - Start the day with Pristina old part and city center: Visit Ethnological Museum, Sulltan Mosque, Bazaar, NewBorn Monument, National Library; afternoon tour continues to Sulltan Murat Tomb, Graçanica Orthodox Monastery (UNESCO site), Ancient City of Ulpiana, Marble Cave. Day 2 - Prizren City tour: walking tour of old part of the town, the old stone Bridge, Sinan Pasha Mosque, Shadervan, Catholic Cathedral, Prizren Castle, Orthodox Monastery of Lady Levis (UNESCO site). Tour continues to Adem Jashari war memorial. Day 3- Start the day with Mitrovica City walking tour: IbriRiver Bridge, Museum of Crystals, continue to the city of Peja where we stop by old Bazaar, then Patriarchate of Peja (UNESCO site), Rugova valley, Radavc cave. Visit to Deçani Monastery and Albanian Stone houses (Kulla).
