We will see this ancient city both inside and out with time to rest and take in the sights, sounds, and smells. Just when you think you have seen enough dazzling sights in the Siq, emerging from it you suddenly come face to face with Al-Khazneh…the pride and joy of Petra and the most beautiful monument over there. We will see more of Petra when we walk through the Street of Facades, the Nabatean Theater, the Royal Tombs, the Roman City, Petra Churches, the Great Temple. Qasir Albint. Then time out for Lunch optional. Free time and then head back to the visitor's center afterwards.
Wael is extremely knowledgeable about Petra and enthusiastic about sharing this national treasure with his guests. He was friendly and helpful throughout the day, offering us extra little hikes and side trips to give us better views. I was not feeling well due to stomach issues, and he was especially kind and helpful with that. I appreciate his concern for my welfare, and the way he orchestrated numerous rest stops to make sure I was okay.
I would highly recommend Wael as a tour guide in Jordan. Not only is he knowledgeable about Jordan itself, but also about the whole history of "Bilad Al Sham", which is important to put the history into context. We had a lovely day in Petra, allowing us to do as we pleased once we had entered the Treasury via the Siq and seen the main important artifacts in this world heritage site.
Wael and Omar were a great team to show us Petra. Petra is absolutely remarkable, and Wael's patience and depth of knowledge made the visit the difference between simple sight-seeing to a fuller cultural and historical experience. Highly recommended for families and people looking to truly learn the history of Petra and surrounding area.
Prepair for a long day. If you are more then two, ask for a van or suv as he has a nice car but it is a long 3 hour trip both ways. He drives as it was fine. The trip was not to be missed and Petra was all you have read about, breath taking history. He speaks english very well and is good in explaining what you are seeing.
