Hello! I am Takanori, your local English and Portuguese-speaking Guide and Interpreter in Kagawa, the hidden gem of Japan's Shikoku island. My journey as a guide began with my own adventures. In my teens and twenties, I traveled extensively, living in the United States for three years and in Brazil for one year. During those years, I realized that the most cherished memories weren't just from visiting famous landmarks; they came from interacting with locals, sharing meals, and experiencing the rhythm of daily life. These are the "real" moments you can't find in a guidebook or on the internet. Now, I want to provide that same authentic connection to guests visiting my hometown. I believe Kagawa, the smallest prefecture in Japan, is a concentrated treasure chest of craftsmanship, unforgettable cuisine (like our famous Sanuki Udon and "Honetsukidori" chicken), deep-rooted traditions, and breathtaking scenery. Every tour I design is 100% tailor-made, shaped entirely around your interests, pace, and curiosity. Whether you want to explore the world-class Bonsai village to meet master artisans I know personally, or visit hidden scenic gems like the "Sky Torii" of Takaya Shrine that large bus tours cannot reach, I am here to make it happen. My promise to you is simple: if something seems impossible, I’ll do my best to find a way. As a specialist in the 200-year history of Takamatsu Bonsai and a professional with experience welcoming luxury cruise passengers and VIPs, I blend deep local knowledge with high-level hospitality. I often use my professional photography skills to capture the perfect moments of your journey, ensuring you go home with memories that last a lifetime. I look forward to meeting you at the port or station. Let’s create an unforgettable, "only-in-Kagawa" experience together!

This tour takes you through the Iya Valley, one of Japan's Three Great Hidden Valleys. Around 900 years ago, after one of the greatest civil wars in Japanese history, defeated samurai fled into this remote mountain region. Their descendants are believed to still live here today, making the area fascinating not only for its spectacular scenery but also for its rich history and unique culture. The highlight of the tour is the famous Kazurabashi (Vine Bridge), handcrafted from natural mountain vines. According to legend, it was built so that the bridge could be cut down quickly if enemy forces approached, allowing the fleeing samurai to escape. You'll also have the opportunity to visit traditional houses where these samurai descendants once lived and admire the breathtaking beauty of the deep valleys, emerald rivers, and dramatic mountain landscapes. This is a perfect tour for anyone who wants to experience Japan's hidden history, untouched nature, and authentic rural culture—all in one unforgettable day.
I'll pick you up at your preferred location, and then we'll visit the following highlights: * Kazurabashi (Vine Bridge) * Biwa Waterfall * Ochiai Village, a historic mountain settlement founded by the descendants of defeated samurai For lunch, I highly recommend trying Iya Soba, the region's famous handmade buckwheat noodles. However, if you have other preferences or dietary requirements, I'm happy to take you to a restaurant that better suits your tastes.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
