Hi there! I’ve been calling Sapporo home since 2017, and for the past 4 years, I’ve been guiding travelers through Hokkaido in a way that goes beyond the typical sightseeing experience.
Originally from Spain, I’ve lived in Italy, Canada, and Ireland before settling in Japan. This international background allows me to bridge cultures naturally, helping you not just visit Japan, but also understand it. Being part of a Japanese family and having close local connections has given me a more personal understanding of everyday life here.
My tours are designed to feel relaxed, personal, and flexible, but also thoughtfully curated. Over the years, I’ve built routes that combine must-see highlights with lesser-known spots, local stories, and experiences that give you a more authentic sense of Hokkaido. As a father of two young children, I also understand how to adapt tours for families, making sure everyone feels comfortable and engaged.
Many of my guests are particularly interested in food and local culture, and I often incorporate stops that reflect that — from fresh seafood markets to hidden local gems, craft beer spots, seasonal specialties, and places that show Hokkaido’s everyday food culture.
I also understand that many private tours are part of a larger trip planned by a travel advisor or agency. In those cases, I’m happy to coordinate smoothly with the existing itinerary, adapt the day to the client’s pace and interests, and provide reliable local support on the ground in Hokkaido.
If you’re looking for a tour that feels less like a checklist and more like exploring the region with someone who truly lives here, I’d be happy to show you around.
