HI! My name is Manuela and I am a qualified licensed Tour Guide in Rome and Vatican City since 2000. Born and raised in Rome, I am proud and in love with my City and I would love to share my passion with visitors eager to explore the eternal city. So, just like me, you will appreciate Rome as an open-air museum, for its historical heritage, but also for its really stimulating atmosphere. When I work I always wear my certification badge, which entitles me to guide you inside any historical monument. It's a job title I am very proud to have achieved, after extensive studies on archaeology, history of art, Roman History and tourism legislation and a severe exam by local authorities: Provincia di Roma. In the past, I have worked with major tourist agencies in Rome and have led private and group tours to hundreds of visitors from all over the world, receiving always words of appreciation for my passion and communication skills. I have now decided to join the ToursByLocal Team as they embrace the spirit of tourism I have embraced: private local guide to fully enjoy and experience my wonderful Roma! My one above all artist is the amazing Michelangelo and I consider myself lucky to live in the city where his main work of art the Sistine Chapel is located. The first time I saw it I was 14 and still I find something new to discover every time. I am fluent in English having lived in Australia for three years. That gave me the opportunity to pick up a good accent that makes touring with me very comfortable to follow. I am also fluent in Italian. Mother of two girls, a 25-year-old and a 14-year-old, I can say I have a certain experience with children and to enable them to feel involved and curious. On my tours, I use visual aids such as iPad, overlay books and have taken storytelling workshops. It is my unique way to deliver history in a fun and friendly way that keeps everyone engaged: you will be taken back in time to relive the Ancient Roman Emperors and Gladiators or the exciting life of Renaissance painters and Popes. I love my work and I do it with passion, it enables me to be with people from all over the world when they are at their best moment…. . on vacation.
