Explore the Eternal City on a private tour with a professional Roman archaeologist! I am a licensed Tour Guide and I really love to share my knowledge and passion for Ancient Rome with others! Since 2003 I am working as field director on several scientific and emergency excavations downtown and in the province of Rome. As I have a deep knowledge of the Roman archaeological sites and museums, I think I would be a great tour guide for those who want to understand ancient Roman architecture, art and social life. It will be my pleasure to guide you to the world famous monuments - as the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Pantheon - or to show you hidden treasures less known - as Villa dei Quintili on the Appian Way, the Bath of Caracalla and Ostia Antica. Visit these archaeological sites with the eyes of a local archeologist and get to know the secrets and stories of every corner of Ancient Rome! I guarantee you will have an unforgettable experience! Please, note: all my tours can be customized. If you are interested in visiting a specific archaeological site, please send me a message and I will make an itinerary just for you! - Licenced tour guide - School of Specialization in Ancient Rome Archaeology Studies at the University of Salerno - M.A. in Lettere (dept. Classical Archaeology) cum laude at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. Are you interested in learning about spectacle and murderous entertainment like gladiatorial games? During this private tour you will visit the most famous entertainment building of the world: the Colosseum and the gladiator training school ("Ludus Magnus"). You will hear stories of slaves become heroes, fighters trained to kill a tiger and to know how to die just to entertain people. Fighting styles, weapons and the shows will be described to let you understand one of the darkest sides of the ancient Roman world! This is a "slow-tour" for people that have a strong interest in ancient Roman society and want to understand the Romans' moral and cultural outlook and the role of demagogy in Ancient Rome. WARNING: The Colosseum tickets are nominative. Your proof of identity (passport or other picture ID) must be kept on hand at the Park entrances. In case of mismatch with the identity document, access to the Colosseum will not be allowed.
- Colosseum (first and second rings) - Gladiator school The tour will be held INSIDE and outside the Colosseum archaeological area. Then we will walk from the Colosseum Square to the gladiator school. This site is closed but very well visible from outside. Please, note: no entrance to the gladiator school archaeological area. This tour as a whole or partially, can be customized to fit your preferences - please inquire! IMPORTANT: Please send me a message before booking! The Colosseum tickets are subjected to availability and valid only for the selected date and timeslot. NOTE: For security reasons all visitors and their luggage shall be screened. This check may cause long lines even with tickets. Please inquiry for suggestions on the best meeting time to avoid queues. Thank you! SECURITY CHECK: Backpacks, camping, bulky bags and luggage/trolley are prohibited. Medium and small size backpacks to shoulder are allowed. NO glass bottles admitted.
