Ciao! My name is Romina, and I am a licensed guide with a degree in Ancient Greek and Roman archaeology and art history. I was born and raised in Le Marche, a region of central Italy. I graduated from the University of Perugia in 2000 and then moved to Rome for the love of my husband. I started working as an expert guide for school groups at the excavations of Ostia Antica, a place I consider my paradise. This experience led me to become an enthusiastic, qualified guide of Rome. I love art and history, but also food and wine. I adore ancient ruins, walls, and bricks—that’s why Rome is my perfect place. I love its monuments, churches with unexpected art treasures, Baroque squares, museums, and archaeological sites, as well as its narrow streets and lesser-known corners, its gardens, and its more modern neighborhoods. I never get tired of the “Eternal City”; I never stop learning—Rome always has something new to reveal. I would like to share my passion with everyone who wants to experience it. This is a historical walk in some of the most iconic and scenic places of the wonderful city of Rome to discover its history from origins to modern times. I start from the Colosseum, the largest ancient amphitheater in the world and one of the seven modern wonders. I will get you in the arena, a really evocative place from where people can admire the building and fully experience it I will guide you up to the second level while looking into the whole story of this fascinating place. The tour goes on by heading to the rest of the archaeological area and visiting the impressive and massive ruins variously reused of what once was the Roman forum and Palatine hill. The Forum was the very first place where the Romans administrated the city. The Palatine was the site of the early settlement and then the location of the Palace of Caesars. I will take you to panoramic places to overlook amazing views.
Our Colosseum tour with Romina was excellent. She arrived on time at the meeting place and was extremely knowledgeable throughout the tour. Romina did a great job prioritizing the most important areas and didn’t waste time on spots that were less interesting to us. Highly recommended.

We had an incredible day with Romina during our Colosseum tour. There is so much history to explain over 2000 years. Romina is very kind, warm and has incredible knowledge. We cannot imagine having this experience without her. She thought of every detail bringing us images to explain what things looked like to complete the historical lesson. Great tour with Romina. Some of our group had toured the Colosseum and Forum before and others had not, but everyone learned something new and exciting. At the most basic level, having a tour guide like Romina ensures all of the planning details are covered - you don't have to worry about tickets, etc. Romina then took time to explain details and find views that allowed for best observation of what was being explained. The Forum and associated buildings are such a big space and there is so much to see, and Romina brought it all to life for us. We would add that Romina is just a thoughtful person who truly cares that everyone is getting what they need. Thank you so much!!

Long umbrellas are not permitted.
