My name is Micaela, born and raised in Rome by parents who were tourists themselves in Italy and decided to live here!! They were always talking different languages to me! As a result I got a degree in foreign languages, and I travelled a lot for pleasure and for working, as a flight attendant first, as a tour leader in Europe and as an Interpreter later. Traveling I also discovered my deep passion for photography, art, history and. . . talking! So I decided to study all I could find about Rome: Archeology, History of art, Mythology, Literature, famous families, Roman battles, Roman entertainments, even oil Painting to understand better art. After having obtained the State license of Tour Guide in 2010, I started guiding friends, and foreigners in private or in little groups. . . Today my job is really what I love: meeting people in their holiday, relaxed and curious willing to have a great time! It is really rewarding to me to see my new and old customers on tour beginning to appreciate my amazing city with new eyes, and with the same love I have for Rome. I try to give the best of the visit going on the less beaten streets or showing sites that are only known if you are a native of Rome - even a food tasting or a little underground visit, because there is more to Rome than the Vatican and Colosseum. Every stone here has a hidden story to tell, every spot has 27 centuries of history and I collected anecdotes on Roman Emperors and Cardinals. Besides Italian, I am fluent in English, French and I also talk a little Spanish. Combined with my intimate knowledge of Rome, I will make your visit a smooth and satisfying experience. . . something truly special, a life time memory. I always worked as a freelance tour guide, I do prefer this solution not to became an object of the more commercial tourism. However generally my job is working by word of mouth. 1997 - Interpreter school of Rome, Italy (Language Degree) 2006 -Master in Archeology and Art History 2010 - Licensed Tourguide of the Province of Rome 2012 - Vatican educational operator

Rome has been continuously inhabited. It was the epicenter of the Roman Empire and then of the Roman Catholic Church, it has had a gigantic impact on the world. Many European languages are based on Latin, many political and legal systems follow the ancient Roman model; and buildings all around the world are using styles and techniques perfected in ancient Rome. Today's Rome has become the world's most famous open-air museum. The city itself retains layers of building spanning over two millennia. The Capitoline Hill, was the symbolic centre of the bRoman world and home to the city's three most important temples. Below the Capitol lies the Roman Forum, once the focus of political, social, legal and commercial life; the Imperial Fora, built when Rome's population grew; The Roman Forum is known as the central area around which ancient Rome developed; and the Colosseum, the centre of entertainment. . . . it will be our main focus.
Walking tour through the ancient ruins of the Roman Forum. We will walk through history back to 2700 years ago. We will talk with Julius Caesar and Octavian Augustus, admiring the fragments of Rome's glorious past. We also will have a glance to the ruins of the imperial palace. Then you will see the Colosseum, where gladiators once fought for their lives in front of thousands of cheering Romans. Transportation: A mean of transport will be provided if needed to pick you up from your hotel provided you are in the city centre. But the tour is walking trough the ruins. What you will see in this tour: - Colosseum - Triumphal arch of Constantine - Temple of Venus and Rome - Triumphal arch of Titus - Walk along the Via Sacra or 'Sacred Way' and it's temples - Constantine Basilica - Roman Forum - Ancient doors of the Senate - Palatine hill * Itinerary can be customized upon request. Feel free to contact me.

A Car will come to pick you up at the hotel provided you are in the area inside the ancient Roman walls of Rome. The car will stop you at Arco di Costantino, from here we will start our walk throughout the Colosseum and the ruins. Note: as the Colosseum's tickets are following specific slots, we might start either with the Colosseum or the Roman Forum. If we start with the Roman Forum the Car will stop us close to the Forum entrance. THE CAR IS ONLY ONE WAY TO COME AT THE COLOSSEUM ONTIME FOR THE SLOT
