Welcome to Naples! My name is Alessandra and I have been a Licensed Tour Guide of Campania Region since 2004. I am truly passionate about Naples. My grandad, who was an expert in history and classical music, passed on his deep love to me when I was a child, telling me the history of Naples, its legends and taking me to visit Pompeii, Herculaneum and the city museums almost every weekend! Since then I have never stopped reading and studying about Naples. I was born in Naples city centre and after working all around the world (the UK, Iran, North Italy), I have chosen to come back to Naples to live here and to enjoy every day its incredible, unusual and unique beauty. Naples is an open-air museum and a vibrant stage where travellers can take part in its colourful performances. Visiting Naples means to experience also its intangible cultural heritage, made up of its traditional and contemporary music, its moving melange of Mediterranean colours. Walking through its markets, you can be invaded by inebriating fragrances of aromatic herbs and spices, which invite you to taste one of the most delicious cuisines of the world . It is impossible to resist Neapolitan street food! Moreover, people, with their warmth and exhilarating dialect will make your trip unforgettable. The list of experiences you can have in Naples is almost endless! I am an independent traveller and during my journeys abroad, I always look for the "authenticity" of my experiences. And as a tourist guide, the authenticity is what I would like to share with my guests, together with accuracy and attention to detail. Therefore, I usually propose a mix of historical and mythological elements, showing secrets that only locals know, in order to enjoy the Neapolitan way of life, without forgetting its night movida. I am an expert swimmer too, and I love snorkelling to take pictures of the local sea life and of underwater archaeological remains, lying a few meters under the sea levels. For this reason, I also organise snorkelling tours to discover the treasures in the Gulf of Naples by kayak or by traditional motorboats, called "gozzo". Beyond the range of tours I propose, if you are interested in a specially tailor-made tour, do not hesitate to contact me. Moreover, each tour can be enriched with lessons to make the real Neapolitan Pizza or lessons to learn the basic Neapolitan language! Master of Art in Translation Studies at Warwick University, Degree In Foreign Languages and Literatures (English and Russian), Licensed Tour Guide of Campania Region, First Aid Training Course, Theatre of Absurd and Neapolitan Theatre courses, Sailing School courses I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Neapolitan people are full of incredible contradictions. It is possible to adore Saint Gennaro and at the same time to pray anonymous skulls. Believe it or not, Neapolitan people have always adopted the so-called "capuzzelle", as to say skulls and bones of dead people. Over time, some capuzzelle have made many miracles, spreading legends and increasing faith. Our walking tour will give us the possibility to visit the inside of two of the main ossuaries: Church of Purgatorio ad Arco and Cemetery of Fontanelle. They are both places of worship and of macabre fascination. So before choosing this tour, be sure not to be a person who gets scared easily! During our walking tour, we will have the possibility to enjoy a sweet break and/or a fantastic pizza in the popular and lively quarter Sanità. Here we can visit the outside of the breathtaking Palazzo dello Spagnolo, where many films have recently been shot, including John Turturro's musical "Passion".
1. Museo metro station 2. Fish and vegetable Market dei Vergini 3. Palazzo dello Spagnolo (visiting from the outside) 4. Cemetery delle Fontanelle (visiting inside) 5.
