Tour Guide in Naples, Pompeii and Herculaneum! I'm totally in love with my city and it'll be my mission to make you fall in love with it too! Hey there! I'm Ada, your ultimate guide to exploring the incredible ancient Roman cities around Mount Vesuvius. With over 25 years of experience, my love for Roman ruins has only grown stronger, especially when it comes to the frozen cities that I'm all about: Pompeii & Herculaneum. Ever since I was a kid, I've been fascinated by history and languages, thanks to my historian dad who filled my head with tales of Neapolitan history. Growing up surrounded by stories of Pompeii & Herculaneum, I felt lucky to live in such a historically rich area. After getting my degree in foreign languages and literature, I spent time as an Erasmus student in France and a language learner in London, sharpening my language skills to fluently guide tours in English & French. I kicked off my career as a tour leader across Italy, diving deep into the history & art of my country. Passing my tour guide exam in 2004 was a major milestone, and since then, I've been thrilled to uncover the secrets & fascinating stories behind ancient buildings. I'm totally hooked on Roman history. Whether it's devouring books on archaeology or attending conferences on Pompeii, I'm always hungry for more knowledge. When you tour with me, it's not just about the architecture—it's about connecting with the human experience. I love sharing stories & anecdotes to give you a glimpse into what life was like in Pompeii thousands of years ago. Being a mom has also been a big help at work! I adore kids and sharing stories with families during their visits. So, if you're ready for an unforgettable adventure filled with passion, enthusiasm, and a touch of ancient magic, join me on a tour like no other. Book now and let's explore the wonders of the past together! •I have a degree in foreign languages and literature. •Erasmus exchange student in France •Licensed Professional tour leader •Licensed tourist guide •Licensed travel agency director •Authorized teacher of foreign languages •I'm involved in school archeological projects to approach young students to their homeland roots •Update classes on Pompeii antiquities. I will not be driving in my tours, however if you requested I could arrange for a private driver and hired car to get us around.

If Pompeii surprises with its preservation, you should know that Herculaneum surpasses it by far! Nestled on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, Herculaneum is remarkably well-preserved compared to Pompeii. It was once a small resort village, offering a glimpse of paradise with its stunning views of the Bay of Naples. What's truly astonishing about Herculaneum is that despite being over 2000 years old, its houses are remarkably intact. On this tour, you'll be able to marvel at unique details like Roman carbonized doors, beds, and beautifully decorated rooms with painted ceilings. However, beneath this beauty lies the tragic fate of its inhabitants. Throughout our time together, I'll provide detailed explanations and insights into each site we visit, ensuring you have a memorable and informative experience at Herculaneum.
Here's a suggested itinerary for your visit to Herculaneum: ·At first, we'll meet at the main entrance where I'll provide you with an introductory overview of the site and its history, to contextualize you a bit before stepping in. ·What follows will be the Exploration of Carbonized Furniture. You'll get to witness firsthand the perfectly preserved, remarkable wooden objects that survived the volcanic eruption. ·Next, we'll move on to admire the amazing frescoes adorning the walls of the ancient houses. ·Later, we'll take a leisurely stroll along the streets of Herculaneum, soaking in the atmosphere of this ancient town. ·At last, we'll visit some Famous Ancient "Fast Food" Establishments. You'll discover the millenary equivalent of fast food joints, where locals grabbed a quick bite to eat. ·Finally we'll say our goodbyes in the ruins, if you wish to explore more on your own and stay longer in the area, or otherwise I can accompany you to the exit of the excavations and wrap up the tour there.
