Hi, I'm Marta an official local guide of Campania Region since 2014. I was born and I live in Salerno, a town in Southern Italy, close to the Amalfi Coast. I'm graduated in Foreign Languages (Arabic, Portuguese and English) and I have a Master Degree in History of Art and Cultural Heritage. I worked in Spain for two years with an Italian Tour Operator. I was selling package holidays to Spanish agencies. In 2014, I took my Tour Guide Licence, because I wanted to change direction with my career as a Tour guide. I started part-time working at the Botanical Garden of Salerno and teaching junior and secondary aged students in Orienteering, an outdoor sport. During this period, the Garden Tours Department asked me to take visitors on two hours tours of Salerno, which lead on to self-organised tours around the historical sites of Campania Region. Today, I do tours around the region, in particular, tours of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Amalfi, Ravello and Paestum. My tours are comprehensive, funny and are designed to inform you about the people, culture and history of this wonderful land. I aim to grab the interest of visitors, deepening the understanding of local history, using the anecdotal history alongside the classical facts. Please feel free to contact me to plan your tours. 2016: Orienteering Course 2014: Tour Guide Licence 2010: Master Degree in History of Art and Cultural Heritage 2008: Undergraduate Degree in Foreign Languages I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

I grow up in Salerno, which is not far from Herculaneum. I'm graduated in Italy with post-graduated degree in Cultural Heritage. I find it fascinating to learn and discover the ruins of Herculaneum. I create my own tours so they appeal to old and new travelers. Families love my outgoing personality and the ability to keep children entertained throughout the duration of the tour. Herculaneum, before the 79 AD eruption, was spread over 20 hectares, with a population of 4. 000 inhabitants. Today the 4. 5 hectares open-air archaeological site are visitable. You will discover one of the most charming village of the Roman Empire, where rich Romans spent their holidays. I will led you throughout their luxurous houses and the most unique area of the site, such as the Gymnasium with swimming pool and the main shopping street. You will also see organic materials and decorative elements, such as: foods, interior furnishings and wooden elements, that the special conditions of Herculaneum burial allowed to be preserved.
Our plan for the day: Walking through the ancient Insula -Visiting the main Domus, like: House of Deers, House of the Wooden Partition, House of Neptune and Amphitrite -Seeing Public buildings: College of the Augustales and Central Thermae The Ancient beach
