My name is Silvia and I became a tour guide in 1989. I've always had a great passion for art, history and culture in general so I decided to turn this passion into my main activity and surely Italy is the right place for this ! During my tours, I always try my best to trigger the beauty of amazing places/monuments, history, traditions and local habits; I love to go along with people to taste local food and to visit the production sites, where they can really understand the uniqueness of our products. I live in a little village in the surrondings of Bologna near the Apennines, so at the beginning of this year I also got an additional license as hiking/trekking guide in order to offer visits of natural landscapes such as rivers, waterfalls and gorgeous hills/mountains. In this area it's also possible to have a view of the well-known paths "Via degli Dei" (The Gods path, going from Bologna to Firenze and viceversa) and "Via della lana e della seta" (The wool and silk route, going from Bologna to Prato and viceversa). I can also combine nature and history/art according to people expectations and shift from historical centers to beautiful churches/castles surronded by the countryside. Another aspect of my special job that I love so much is chatting with people of many different countries, exchanging opinions and experiences, thus helping me to keep alive the languages I know. I am also available for tailor-made tours and I am looking forward to guiding you somewhere ! Tour guide license issued by Bologna province, Emilia Romagna region in 1989 in Italian, English and French languages Hiking/trekking guide license issued by Emilia Romagna region in 2022 in Italian, English and French languages. I'm not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Ferrara is a lovely town full of history, its historical center was declared UNESCO world heritage in 1995. We will start the visit from the amazing castle of Saint Michael, the most well known monument of this town. Next to the castle, the charming Cathedral dedicated to Saint George, the protector of Ferrara, the Ducal Palace and Piazza Trento e Trieste, the seat of the city market. Then we will stroll through the stunning medieval alleys (called "fondachi") and reach the old Jewish Ghetto. In the end, let's have a look at the impressive Palazzo dei Diamanti, walking along the lovely Corso Ercole I d'Este.
