Hallo! I'm an official local guide in Agrigento since 1998. I really encourage you to take a tour in my city. The Valley of Temples is a World Heritage Site and so a place with a very rich historical background. Don't waste your occasional presence in Sicily with only a superficial look at the Temples. Take the chance to get a real insight of the site. You will discover, at the end of the tour, that, no matter from what side of the globe you come from: this site is part of your history. It belongs to you. Obviously the Greek temples and the Sicilian landscape will appeal directly to your spirit and senses. They will fascinate you with their magic. But with the guided tour you will learn more about their history. The guide will disclose the secrets of their perfect architecture, the reasons why they still fascinate us. At the end of the tour you will look at them as an essential part of mankind's history. I'm looking forward to welcoming you! I am a local guide in Agrigento since 1998. I have a regular official license (SE084//44) . I am fully vaccinated against Covid 19. I have always worked in the tourism since I left University in Palermo where I integrated literary studies with exams in Art History and History of Sicily. After I took the degree in English and German Litteratures, I spent one year abroad in UK and Ireland to get The Proficiency Certificate in English Studies released by the University of Cambridge. In Germany I worked for an year as an assistant of italian courses in a high school for classic studies, the Goethe Schule in Bochum. As I started the activity of tour guide I realized it really suits me because conjugate the passion I have for history and arts with the pleasure to meet people from around the world. I am not a driver-guide. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. Please mind that I am not a native English speaker. My accent could probably require sometimes you to ask me to repeat some commentary again.

This is not just a walking tour but includes a short drive between the Museum and the Valley of Temples (2 km). The tour includes the visit of the museum plus the eastern side of Valley of Temples:Temples of Hera, Concordia, Herakles and early christian necropolis The Museum owns a superb Attic and Italiot ceramic collection; the original gigantic statue of Atlas from the Olympian Zeus Temple; a couple of marble Greek statues (the Ephebus and the Dying Warrior 480 B. C. ). Furthermore a considerable collection of finds from every sector of the ancient city (political agorà, necropolises, houses, sanctuaries) will give you a more complete insight of the life of people in Greek and Roman antiquity.
Your Agrigento tour itinerary
We'll meet right at the entrance of the Archaeological Museum Pietro Griffo. In its beautiful XIII century old cloister to start the visit of the Museum. This will take about 1 hour. Then we drive to the top entrance of the Valley of Temples and will visit, just walking (1 km) the longest and best preserved part of the site: Hera, Concordia, early christian necropolis and Herakles Temples .
