The mysterious Negev Desert has been for over hundreds of years one of the most inhabitted places in Holy Land. Yet, due to his strategic location from the Arab desert to Meditteranean sea, he had a very important role in ancient times. It was a challenge and a necesity to be able to cross this huge desert with merchandise to be shipped to Europe. the experts for such mission were the nabatean people. Leading convoys through the incense route all the way to the medditeranean turned them to be very rich people due to their knowledge in crossing the desert. We will explore the ancient towns they founded and adopted them to the leaders in those ancient times. What happened to them finnally? How come they dissaperd all of a sudden? In this unique experience, some interesting discoveries to be found.
You will meet me in Beer-Sheva the capital city of the desert. From here we are to head south to the ancient city of Shivta. Spending time walking between the ruins of the we will explore the main sites of this city. The tour contiues to the northern of the desert till reaching the Nabatean city of Avdat. on our way time to explore some interesting modern days communities of the israeli state. If it is of tour interest and time allows we can explore the desert oasis of Ain Avdat. our tour continues to the city of Mamshit, a very developed city , strategically located and good point to discover where are the Nabatean people now. Our tour will finish heading back to the city of Beer-Sheva for the end point.
