Hi! I'm a licensed tour guide and I'm excited to share my love of Israel with you! My passion is using story-telling, education and experiences to connect people to all that Israel has to offer and to give them a wider perspective in order to connect Israel's story to my clients. I have a BA in Philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh and a MS in Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon. I'm a mom to 6 boys and love hiking, games and learning new things. A tour through time in the Capital of the Negev
Overview of your Beersheba tour
Did you know that the Ottoman's only founded one new city in 400 years of rule in Israel? That city is Beer Sheva! I'm a resident of Beer Sheva and besides learning about history, I can give you local insights into what it's like to live in the Capital of the Negev region. On this tour we will discover why this ancient city was founded thousands of years ago and what led to its demise. We will talk about the factors which led the Ottoman's to reestablished it only 120 years ago. Biblical times, Ottoman era, First World War and founding of the state of Israel all combine to create a vibrant city-scape today.
Your Beersheba tour itinerary
We will start at the UNESCO World Heritage site - Tel Beer Sheva. Continuing to Beer Sheva's Old City and its founding by the Ottomans - the only city founded by the Ottomans in Israel in their over 400 years ruling here! We will then see a beautifully manicured British city and see how important the Battle of Beer Sheva was during the First World War. We end our day with a scenic overlook from the Negev Monument.
