Overview of your Ennis tour
Step out of the tourist track, escape from the crowds and get mixing with the locals on beautiful, unspoiled Loop Head. The peninsula has one of the biggest ratios of coastline to landmass on the west of Ireland, with all of it protected by EU heritage and species designations and been awarded many Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Awards. It's a day of relaxing, interpreting the local history, geography and ancient stories of the area, and of course eating some locally produced yummy food. Travel along some of Ireland's most beautiful (and hidden!) coastline of the Wild Atlantic Way. Includes a 30-minute breathtaking cliff walk in the town of Kilkee, and a visit to the Loop Head lighthouse, where some of the most recent Star Wars movie was filmed. Breathe the fresh air and be prepared to be blown away on this beautiful, less commercial and unspoiled Irish peninsula where no coaches are allowed in the scenic coastal routes.
Your Ennis tour itinerary
-9. 30 AM Pick up at your accommodation (has to be within a reasonable distance of Kilkee, we can discuss after booking) -Travel to the Victorian Seaside town of Kilkee and learn it's fascinating history and see the beautiful Victorian Bandstand (and witness the Kilkee Plastic Free initiative in the town) -30 Minute spectacular Cliff Walk, where the locals go -See the Kilkee Pollack Holes -Stunning Coastal Cliff Drive -Learn the story of Bishops Island and hear the legends surrounding the local fairy fort -Stop for lunch in local pub-restaurant, amazing locally produced food and seafood -Visit to the Church of the Little Arc and learn of the Irish famine stories associated with one of Ireland's last remaining Arcs -Travel to the Loop Head Lighthouse where the last Star Wars Movie was filmed, climb to the top to see a 360 degree panoramic view of Loop Head -5. 30 PM Arrive back at your accommodation
