I have been passionate about food since I became economically independent and started cooking. Now I cook everyday for my family. I acquired my knowledge and technics following cooking lessons given by chefs in the Loire Valley. The rest is just passion and seriousness. Indeed I am super strict about the way I deal with this subject and buy only local. When it comes to choosing products, there is no kidding !!! But then, do we enjoy ?! SPORTS I practice sports everyday, especially crossfit and running. I consider myself fit but will adapt to the level of my clients who join my running tour in order to make the experience a great moment. LOIRE VALLEY The Loire Valley with its 300 châteaux from the French Renaissance is the perfect region for me, my favorite field in art being architecture. Only an hour away by train from Paris, it offers a relaxing way to discover some of the greatest masterpieces of architecture and splendid French countryside. Overview of your Loire Valley tour
In the XVI century, attracted by the beauty of its landscape, its forests, its wines, its majestic waterways, French kings and queens decided to move to the Loire Valley. They needed places where to stay or hunt. There still are 300 castles here now ! Licensed tour guide for 25 years now, I will use my experience and knowledge to explain what French Renaissance architecture is all about. I will be happy to deliver anecdotes about daily life of sovereigns and their court in our chateaux. Chambord, hunting lodge built by king François I, is the largest and most spectacular castle. With its 426 rooms ans crazy rooftops, it will simply blow your mind. Chenonceau, arching across the river and nestled in magnificent Renaissance gardens, was built by the king's mistress, Diane, making it the most romantic castle here. En route, my joy will be to show details in our everyday landscape such as our crops, our vineyards, small private hidden manor houses etc.
Your Loire Valley tour itinerary
- Pick up at Saint Pierre des Corps TGV station or at your hotel in Amboise or Tours. - Drive to château de Chenonceau (30 min). En route introduction to the history of the region . - Tour of château de Chenonceau (2 h). - Drive to the town of Amboise (20 min). En route introduction to the food of the region and lunch recommendations. - Lunch at leisure in town of Amboise (1h30). - Drive to Chambord (1h) -Tour of chateau de Chambord (2h) -Drive back to your hotel or TGV station.
