Dear travellers, I am Markéta, an experienced, fully licensed guide born and raised in Prague. As I love guiding and driving at the same time, I would be delighted to drive you around Prague and to some of the most special places of my beautiful homeland! I have worked as Prague private guide specializing in history, architecture & hidden gems since 2003, so I am ready (and happy) to flexibly personalize every tour. Each custom private tour is designed to create your ideal Prague experience meeting your needs, interests and pace. If mobility is a concern, the private car option allows us to explore the city comfortably and efficiently. Taking along a walker or a wheelchair (if needed) is not a problem either. I have lived in Prague for my whole life and as a child, I loved strolling the old Prague's streets, hearing legends about the old Prague from my parents. I started to work as a professional guide after receiving the Official guide of Prague certificate, aged 20… and soon I found out that being a guide in Prague is really great! It's because the city is so beautiful and most people seem to like it :) Later I studied Art history at Masaryk University in Brno. My hobbies are architecture, music, history, gastronomy, photography, and yes, good Czech beer as well - and of course, my amazing job that includes meeting people from all over the world and sharing our stories. • Are you a history, culture and architecture lover? • Do you like receiving relevant information in an entertaining way? • Does it sound good to you to have a beer at a place where locals go? Then, it's probably going to be a perfect match! :) I would like to invite you to: • My beloved town of Český Krumlov, a fairy-tale medieval city with cobblestoned streets • Terezín, a former concentration camp, in combination with Dresden, a baroque city in Saxony almost destroyed by bombing in 1945 • and to a short driving tour through the historical centre of Prague and its most beautiful views called Prague after dark We will use my practical and roomy car, comfortable enough for 4 passengers + driver (me). I hope you will enjoy even longer transfers in my comfy Volkswagen Sharan, where you can adjust the position of every seat. In the city, you might appreciate a panoramic roof for better views of the architecture around and above. I'm looking forward to meeting you in Prague! *Bachelor's degree in History of Arts and Culture (2012) - Masaryk University in Brno *Official Tour Guide for Prague region Certificate (2003) - Prague City Tourism *Official Guide of the Jewish Museum in Prague Certificate (2006) - Jewish Museum in Prague *National Guide Certification card of 2nd grade - with proven qualification *Professional Driver Trade License (2012) - Trade Licensing Office Prague *Czech Association of Tourist Guides member No restrictions

Overview of your Kutna Hora tour

Kutná Hora means "the mountain of miners". In the thirteenth century, the real silver fever broke out here and the city fast became the second richest city of our country after Prague. Do you want to know how these two cities were competing? We will understand that when visiting the witnesses of those times - Saint Barbara Cathedral or the Royal Mint. Visit with me a well preserved gothic medieval town just a little bit more than 1-hour drive from Prague. In Kutná Hora, the silver not only was exploited, but also was elaborated and the coin called "prague groschen" was made out of it. In the city we cannot miss the Royal Mint called the Italian Court, the Czech Silver Museum, the visit of the Cathedral of Saint Barbara and also the local curiosity - chapel of All Saints with decoration made of human bones. The tour in the city is walking, but it is not a very long distance.

Marketa was wonderful. She made my Heritage Trip so memorable. She was prepared for the tour by visiting the area before hand and gathering information about the history of the town and people. We also went to the Church of the Local Assumption of the Virgin Mary (Stars Boleslav) where my family pilgrimage every year. She was very accommodating and pleasant to talk to. I would highly recommend her.

Marketa took us on a fascinating tour of Kutna Hora which is about an hour drive from Prague. The town is worth visiting but even more so if Marketa is your guide. Marketa explained every last detail of this most interesting town. We spent a very enjoyable day with Marketa and learned a lot. Kutna Hora with Marketa is not to be missed.

Marketa is an absolutely wonderful tour guide! She arranged a tour to my grandparents’ home villages and provided interesting information I hd been unable to access on my own. She also took us to a wonderful restaurant for lunch and the UNESCO city of Kutná Hora the beauty of which we had not previously been aware. Her knowledge of Prague and the Czech history is extensive. Most impressive is how much she enjoys being a tour guide around this wonderful country.

This tour was Day Two of three tours we took with Marketa. I have two adult sons who wanted to go down in the Silver Mine, so Marketa reserved tickets for the guys to go in the mine and then she took me to visit the beautiful St. Barbara’s Cathedral. She assisted me with the walker/wheelchair with ease. Later, all of us enjoyed a pleasant lunch and then, she took us to the remarkable “Bone” Church. Throughout the tour, Marketa continued to ensure that everything worked out for our wishes, as she described the history of the area. She is interesting with exceptional English skills laced with fun humor!

We ended up having a family emergency and Marketa adjusted her plans immediately to help us with our situation. So, because of our needs, we did not go on the tour as planned. She took us to handle our emergency efficiently and after that was over, she gave us a complete tour of the city before delivering us back at our rental. We couldn’t have been more grateful of her help.

Marketa stepped in to take over our Kutna Hora tour when our initial guide was no longer able to do it. Excellent driver & comfortable car. Marketa was very knowledgeable about Kutna Hora and Sedlec, and gave us a good understanding of the historical importance of this town as a silver mine, mint and direct connection to the kings of Bohemia. Also introduced us to Baroque Gothic architecture. The drive from Prague to Kutna Hora gave us a sense of the countryside around the city. Marketa took us to a wonderful medieval tavern for a traditional Czech lunch. Rain interfered with some of the walking in the old town centre, but she adapted and drove us to see most of sights. For us, the Church of St Barbara was the highlight of the day - for us, more enjoyable than St Vitus cathedral in Prague.
