Overview of your Hangzhou tour
Join me on this private Qingshan Lake day tour to discover the dreamlike water forest known as Matcha Lake, where a carpet of matcha-green duckweed covers the water, and tall pond cypress trees rise straight out of the lake. Look closely, and you may spot deer and graceful black swans wandering in this magical wetland, within the vast Qingshan Lake wetland area on Hangzhou’s western outskirts. Born and raised in Hangzhou, I know every hidden corner of this region. Along our tour, we will take a lakeside electric cart ride circling part of Qingshan Lake, admiring beautiful lake views from varied perspectives and passing colourful flower fields along the way. At Matcha Lake, you can rent single or tandem kayaks, or a clear glass boat for photos at your own expense. You’ll hear engaging tales of this unique wetland ecosystem. It would be my great pleasure to share authentic local warmth with you, as we immerse ourselves in this dreamlike natural paradise far away from crowded tourist spots.

-Matcha Lake (Water Forest) Stroll along the wooden boardwalk winding through the water forest. Take your time to soak in the breathtaking matcha-green lake views, surrounded by tall pond cypresses rising from the water. Keep an eye out for black swans and deer wandering nearby. You may also choose to rent single or tandem kayaks, or a clear glass boat for photos at your own expense. -Scenic Ride along Qingshan Lake Greenway Ride along the scenic lakeside greenway of Qingshan Lake on an electric cart. This winding green path hugs the lakeshore, framed by trees and sweeping lake views. We will slow down at lovely viewpoints so you can soak in the peaceful natural landscape and take wonderful pictures. As with every ToursByLocals tour, this tour is of course customisable.
