My name is Gerardo, after 20 years of living all over the map I am back in my native Punta Arenas. I consider myself very fortunate and proud of my Patagonian roots, and truly enjoy sharing my land with visitors from all over the world. My goal is make you forget of the tourist experience, the hassle, the obvious tourist traps. In exchange, I will provide the friendliest, world-class service you and your party deserve. Experience Patagonia like few do, with comfort plus local insight. Immerse yourself in the epic tale of Patagonian conquest, one of passion, endurance, and intrigue. Relive Ferdinand Magellan's adventure, stand on the stern of his ship, visit world-class landmarks, such as the Cementerio Municipal. Layer up, and visit the first Chilean settlement at Fort Bulnes. Learn stories about fierce nature and unbroken willpower. If weather permits, you will see prancing dolphins on the blue Estrecho waters. I offer bottled water, and treats.

We were so fortunate to have a great weather day for our tour with Gerardo who is an enthusiastic tour guide for Punta Arenas and the country. The park and fort were well worth visiting especially with his knowledge, followed by the cemetery which was a great background to learn more history about the area. Being able to ask all our questions of the guide and get them answered with only 4 of us on the tour was well worth the effort to make the booking. The van was very comfortable for the drive and a nice short stop for a snack along the way with wine provided by Gerardo a nice addition.

I had a great time with Geraldo. I had no idea Punta Arenas had such interesting history. The architecture around the main square harkens back to the waves of European immigration. The Fort showed a glimpse of the history of the Strait and efforts of the Spanish to establish a foothold. Geraldo took me to see life sized replicas of half a dozen ships instrumental in the history of the Strait and Antartica. On the quirky side, you don't want to miss the pet cemetery.

My family of 6 had a fantastic time with Gerardo in Punta Arenas ! A 5 star experience from pick up at the port to the return after a wonderful day. He is extremely knowledgeable and kind. Our unforgettable tour included Fuerte Bulnes, the outdoor ship museum and a stop at very memorable local empanada restaurant, amongst many more unique experiences personalized by him for us. Gerardo is a knowledgeable and friendly guide. He planned a full day for our group exploring all along the coast from Punta Arenas to Fort Bulnes. What fabulous scenery! Gerardo is a wonderful person and was very accommodating and he even surprised us with a stop for a special local lunch. It was a pleasure meeting Gerardo!

Your Punta Arenas tour itinerary

- We will begin driving 45 miles along the coast to the south end of the continent to enter Parque del Estrecho, featuring historical Fort Bulnes, and the first Chilean settlement in the region. You will enjoy dramatic views of the southern islands, scenic mountains, and unique wildlife. - We will wrap our experience by visiting Parque del Estrecho's Visitor Center, with its interactive museum, coffee shop and gift store. - Visit Plaza de Armas, a place surrounded by native trees, beautiful buildings, and imposing palaces. - The tour continues to the viewpoint of the "Cerro de la Cruz", from where you have a magnificent view of the city with its colourful roofs, the Strait of Magellan and in the background the great Island of Tierra del Fuego. - We will traverse picturesque Bulnes avenue to visit Cementerio Municipal, listed by CNN as one of the most beautiful in the world; through its majestic layout, we will walk through untold tales of passion and perseverance. The itinerary can be customized.
