Hi there! I've been working as a guide in the Atacama desert since 2009, I used to work as a driverguide for different tour agencies and some hotels in San Pedro de Atacama, so thanks to that, I know every corner of this region and every place to visit, like Geysers, Andean lagoons, Wetlands, Salt flats, landscapes that look like other planets, hypersaline lagoons where you can float effortlessly, and many others. From late 2018, I'm working independently, with my own vehicle; a Toyota 4runner 4WD, up to 4 passengers plus the driver. Now a days, I'm providing privates tours away from the crowds in different timings, fully customized, depending on the special interests the travelers may have, like Bird-watching, Photography, Wildlife, Culture, Geology, Stargazing among others. A guide is not someone that show places and give information, a guide is someone who make the link, between the place, the culture, the nature, and all what the travelers are interested on, to give the most personalized experience and filling their soul, in a real connection. I really love my job and I think I'm living the dream today, because I always thought that one day my personality, charisma, enthusiasm and love for nature, will be my tools for what I do for a living, so here I am, doing what I love, sharing with people coming from all over the world and showing one of the most beautiful and unique places on earth, The Atacama Desert. - SERNATUR (National Service of Tourism) Q Stamp of tourism quality This stamp means reliability, transparency, security, customers satisfaction and service improvements. -LGAI CHILE S.A. On the way to San Pedo de Atacama we'll take a 30 km (18 miles) road to visit the Rainbow Valley and Yerbas Buenas archaeological site. There might be herds of wild guanacos by the road, for sure flock of birds flying around, in a beautiful and colorful scenery. In Yerbas Buenas there are ancient engravings made by the "Atacameños", this place is an ideal place to introduce you with the rich and ancient Atacamenian culture, they traveled long distances from the Atacama salt flat in caravans with llamas, they carried their goods to exchange with tribes living by the Loa river. Rainbow valley, hills made of clay with plutonic rocks, make the scenery unreal, it looks like the landscape from a science fiction movie.
- Pick up from Calama's airport. - Driving through the desert going up to the Domeyko mountain range, the driest of the world, to 3500 meters AMSL. - Depending on the time of the day, we'll go first to Rainbow Valley or to Yerbas Buenas to see the petroglyphs, is all about colors and light. - On the way back we'll stop in front of the Andes mountain range to enjoy the view. - Dropping off in your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.
