My family and I were welcomed by a warm community when we moved here over 20 years ago. Being immigrants it was very important for us to learn the history of Saint John, the oldest incorporated city in Canada. We enjoyed the visits to the City Market for fresh seafood, meat and vegetables. For my young kids, each visit to these places was like a fascinating adventure. We were excited to be so close to the water! That is what drew us to the reversing rapids. Each visit was filled with the ever changing tides of the Bay of Fundy. During Summer vacations, our kids always wanted to go exploring. They loved to go to the sea caves and climb the rocks at low tide, canoeing at high tide. We always made sure to pack walking shoes so that we could end our day with a hike through Fundy Trail. We soon came to love this Victorian era City which would be our forever home. Seven years ago I was given the opportunity to share my knowledge with visitors to the City and Bay of Fundy which I would love to share with you.
We will begin at your accommodation and off to the first stop on this tour, the Reversing Rapids. Then a 2-hour drive (depending on traffic) towards Hopewell Rocks. Hopewell Rocks is filled with iconic rock structures, including Flower Pot Rock, that are shaped like flower pots due to vegetation on top. This location is also home of the highest tides in the world, coming up to about 50 feet! Tides permitting, you will get the opportunity to walk on the ocean floor. On our return trip, we will have a quick stop at the village of Alma, a fishing village most famous for their sticky buns. We will also travel through the beautiful Fundy National Park. Our last stops will include Fundy Trail Parkway, St. Martins and the Reversing Rapids. Finally I will drop you off at your hotel/accommodation. ** This tour can be customized upon request.
