Moving to Jasper 33 years ago as the figure skating coach completely changed my life. I fell in love immediately with the park and it's unbelievable beauty and magnificent nature. I dreamed of being a hiking guide as soon as I heard that there was such a profession. I made that dream come true 28 years ago when I became a Certified Hiking Guide with the Association of Canadian Mountains Guides. I have travelled the planet for hiking and climbing and have been on trekking adventures to Nepal 7 times. I have climbed in China, Thailand, Hong Kong, Laos, India, Indonsia, Australia, Kenya, South Africa, Morroco, Ethiopia, Spain, Greece, Cuba, Colombia Peru, Argentina, United States and Jordon! I still find the Canadian Rockies very magical. I have guided many travelers from all over the world sharing my passion and knowledge of all the pure spaces that I have discovered. I believe that the pure spaces of nature are very powerful and that connecting with these spaces can be very nourishing for the soul. I always allow time for my guests sit in silence and really connect with themselves and the pristine places we explore. I believe in the importance of "leave no trace" practices in nature. I am always fostering an appreciation and understanding of ecosystems and the interconnectedness of all living beings. Being a Certified Yoga Teacher and meditation practitioner allows me to bring the body, mind, and spirit aspect to your hike if desired. I’ve spent 28 years guiding in Jasper and Banff, and after living here for 34 years, I don’t just know the land — I know the wildlife personally. I even recognize many of the bears by name. We can’t say enough wonderful things about Terri. She arrived on time and was gracious throughout. She was tremendously knowledgeable about the sites and made great recommendations on where to go to avoid the crowds. We found her insights based on 30 years in these mountains fascinating. Wonderful day with Terri as we trekked different parts of the Icefield. She selected hikes that were appropriate for our age (70) and fitness level. She provided information about the area and several terrific restaurant suggestions. Highly recommend her as a guide.
Terri was terrific. Her knowledge of Canada and in particular Jasper National Park gave my wife and I a wonderful history lesson. The mistake we made was not booking Terri for our three day stay. One day with her wasn't enough. We're senior-seniors and Terri led us on a few hikes but the best was of Mount Edith Cavell. It was rainy and Terri led us perfectly over the boulders & streams of the Athabasca River Valley. The sights are amazing. She deserves 5.5 stars! Thanks again, Joe & Ruth

We will leave early to avoid crowds and see wildlife and enjoy a ruby sky sunrise over the mountain peaks! Where we go will depend on the conditions at the time of the season. Options include Bow Lake Area, Parker's Ridge Area, Columbia Icefields area. The hike will be hand picked to avoid crowds. These special places will have unique features that without a guide you would not be able to appreciate the nuances and significance of the area and may not have thought of going to the area as they will be off the common tourists radar. Lunch on the high point overlooking jaw dropping scenery!
