Howdy, my name is Rob Lennard, known across Canada as "Alberta's History Wrangler". I am passionate about showing tourists from around the world the great places to visit in southern Alberta, including the majestic Rocky Mountains, and The Cowboy Trail (where the show Heartland is filmed). I also hope you allow me to show you Dinosaurs in Drumheller, Indigenous historic spots and the great city of Calgary as a whole, home of the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics and The Calgary Stampede, known as "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth". Speaking of which, I have had the joy of performing in 8 Calgary Stampedes and in the Opening Ceremonies of the Calgary Winter Olympics! Next, I have been referred to by Global News Television as "Alberta's Walking Encyclopedia" and apart from conducting tours, I am the historian at the historic Bow Valley Ranche, the Ambassador of the Cowboy Trail and producer of The History Wrangler Show that is seen across Canada on The Cowboy Channel. I am also an award winning singer/songwriter who writes upbeat historical based songs, as well as an author who wrote a best selling book for the Calgary Stampede Centennial. A signed copy of this book is given to each wonderful group that I tour. Finally, I bring my guitar along on my tours which further adds to my one-of-a-kind tour experience. Awards/Accolades received for writing, singing and sharing Alberta history include the following: Alberta Centennial Medal Alberta Heritage Awareness Award Governor General of Canada Sovereign Medal City of Calgary. Award for Heritage Vice Regal Commendation Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee Medal Nominated for: King Charles Coronation Medal Medical Training: Advanced Medical Certificate. Number of countries visited: 38 and counting.

Overview of your Calgary tour
This tour is personal for me as it includes a visit to The Calgary Stampede grounds, home of the "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth!", where I performed many times over the years, including as a kid in front of Queen Elizabeth. It also encompasses the historic Bow Valley Ranche, where I "hang my hat" as its Historian, and the Cowboy Trail, where I've been the official Ambassador for almost a decade. Our adventure on the Cowboy Trail includes visiting the sacred Big Rock, a visit to Turner Valley (where the big oil discovery took place in 1914) and a visit to High River where Superman movies and "Heartland" (Canada's longest TV series) have been filmed. We will also be visiting the historic ranch where "The Sundance Kid", "Butch Cassisdy's" partner in crime worked for 2 years, amongst other interesting places. You should know I have a personal connection to all these places and I even starred in a musical at University with Chris Potter who plays Heartland's Tim Fleming, the father on the TV show.
Your Calgary tour itinerary
·After picking you up we'll head to the Calgary Stampede grounds (includes live music)! ·Next, we'll head to the Bow Valley Ranche for a 30 minute visit including a tour of the Artisan Gardens. ·Afterwards, we'll drive for 20 more mins to the Big Rock, where we could go on a short hike. ·We'll drive for 20 more mins to High River, passing by the Highwood Museum, formerly a railway station. ·What follows will be a refreshment or a meal (your choice) in the Dinning Car Restaurant. which is an actual 1947 dinning car! ·Next, we'll drive for half an hour to the historic Bar U Ranch, where I perform at on Canada Day. ·Later, we'll drive for 15 mins to Longview where we could visit its Beef Jerkey Store. ·We'll then drive for 15 more mins to Turner Valley and visit the site of the big 1914 Oil Discovery. Fun fact: I was the feature entertainer for its 100th anniversary celebration in 2014 and performed my song about the history of oil in Alberta. ·Finally, we'll return to Calgary.
