I am an accomplished outdoor enthusiast and world traveller who has explored much of Canada, Asia, South America, Central America and New Zealand. At 25ish countries and counting I am always looking for new adventures and new people to share adventures with, whether it be by road or on foot. With more than 20 years of experience here in the Canadian Rockies I have a passion for the mountains and like nothing more than sharing that passion with others. I practice Leave No Trace ethics and it is my goal to foster a better appreciation and understanding of our natural environment by connecting people to the history and the landscape. My good nature and sense of humour make me an easy travelling companion on long and short trips alike. I am certified by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides, the Interpretive Guides Association and the Outdoor Council of Canada. I also have an Advanced Wilderness First Aid Certification. Business Licences and Proof of Commercial Liability Insurance for all advertised Activities and Tour areas are available. I am continuously adding to my skills, experience and knowledge. For any and all trips I put the safety and enjoyment of my guests first. Transportation is included and recommendations can be made about local dining, accommodations, other activities and facilities. Requests for larger groups can be accommodated. Please bear with me as I am often away from internet and cell reception. I look forward to connecting with you as soon as possible. Check out Drumheller, the coolest town you've never heard of! From the moment the vast Alberta prairies give way to the dramatic moonscape of the Canadian badlands you'll be astounded by the landscape. Part wild west and part Jurassic Park, Drumheller has something for everyone. This area was recently the filming location for Ghostbusters: Afterlife and we will visit some locations. Visit the Royal Tyrell Museum to get your Dinosaur fix. See hundreds of life size exhibits and many local finds including our very own Albertasaurus. Kids and adults alike will enjoy climbing the stairs into the mouth of the worlds largest Tyrannosaurus Rex for amazing views of the Red Deer River Valley. For a taste of the wild west we'll visit scenic Horsethief Canyon and travel to the unique town of Wayne for lunch at the Last Chance Saloon, complete with real bullet holes in the walls. Many other sights await you on this full day adventure.
Depart Calgary, drive 1 hr 45 min to Drumheller. Stop at scenic Horseshoe Canyon for a short walk and photo opportunities. Check out the worlds largest dinosaur. Climb the stairs into the mouth of the giant T-Rex for amazing views of the Red Deer River Valley. Stop at the Star Mine Suspension Bridge where you are welcome to follow in the footsteps of the miners who used the bridge to access the mine sites across the river. (Currently closed for repairs) Stop to marvel at the Hoo Doo's. (Don't worry, they will be explained) Enter the Guinness Record books and cross 11 bridges in 6 km to reach the tiny town of Wayne and the historic Last Chance Saloon for lunch. After lunch we're off to the Royal Tyrrell Museum to see some real dinosaur fossils! Bonus sights await following the museum! With so much to see and do on this tour we are only limited by the amount of time we spend at each attraction. Our itinerary is easily adaptable to show you more of what you want to see and less of what you don't.
