Guide #28449
Barev Dzez! (Means "Hello" in Armenian.) I’m a tour guide who believes in a personal approach. I like to keep things fun and show you the real Armenia - not just the typical tourist spots. As a local, I know the best places to visit, eat, relax, and enjoy nature - especially the mountains! I also enjoy taking people to small villages, where you can meet local families, taste homemade food and drinks, and stay in cozy guesthouses or hotels. I want to make your trip to Armenia special and unforgettable. I know a lot about Armenian history, but I try not to turn it into a boring lecture. I like to share stories and facts in a simple, interesting way. I also enjoy talking about our unique traditions and cultural details you won’t find anywhere else. I’m an easygoing, friendly, and flexible guide. I believe every guest is different, so I’m happy to adjust the tour to your interests. A little bit about me: I was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, and moved to Armenia with my family when I was 16. I’ve traveled a lot - to the US, Israel, and many countries in Europe. Every year, I try to visit one or two new countries. As a traveler myself, I can say Armenia has everything to become a top travel destination - beautiful landscapes, tasty food, and great prices. Come before everyone else discovers it! I’ve been working as a private tour guide for 8 years and have already welcomed over 1500 guests. I truly enjoy meeting new people from around the world and sharing what I know about my wonderful country. Most of my tours are done with my own car. Transportation is included in all my prices. If you're a group of more than 3, I can arrange a driver with a minivan or minibus. Tours can be one day (about 8 hours) or last for several days. I can also create a custom tour based on what you want to see and do. I'll be happy to answer all your questions. Your Armenian friend, Ishkhan

Ishkhan is a brilliant guide, we have travelled a lot and he is one of the best we have had from Tours by Locals. His driving was calm and made us feel very safe. The trip was well planned with lots of nice hidden touches. He was very knowledgeable and always went that step beyond to ensure that we had a great time.

It really means a lot to hear that I’m one of the best guides, thank you so much Alex. I’m very glad you enjoyed the tour, and I hope to see you again in Armenia someday to explore even more beautiful places together.
My wife and I used Ishkhan for a three day tour in Armenia in late September this year and it was absolutely delightful. Ishkhan treated us like family from out of town and showed us the amazing sites in Armenia at a pace suited to our needs. From Khor Virap to Lake Sevan and the wonderful city of Yerevan (and more!), Ishkhan shared his amazing knowledge of the history,...

David and Laurie, thank you! I’m happy you had a great time discovering Armenia with me. Safe travels until we meet again!
Run, don’t walk to book a tour with Ishkan. When my dad, wife, and I visited Armenia, the highlight of our trip was our time with him. He planned a five day road trip starting in Yerevan, through small towns, and finishing in Tbilisi. Everything was tailored to us. The journey was unforgettable. We shared homemade wine and food in family homes that felt like visiting...

Thank you so much, Nick, for your kind words. It was a real pleasure sharing Armenia with you and your family, and I hope to see you again soon!
Ishkhan is the best tour guide one can imagine. During our five days together I haven't had the impression of travelling around with a stranger but with a good friend instead. His profound knowledge about history, culture and architecture of Armenia is literally inexhaustible. Due to Ishkhans excellent English we didn't have any communication problems at all. Shortly...
