Sheep & Stone - Real Snowdonia Private tour

What better way to understand the beating heart of an area but on a tour with a local? Landscape makes people and people make landscape. On this tour you don't just drive through an area just getting out the car to snap the classic photographs, I will walk through the geology, agriculture and medieval towns meeting the people and getting to know what makes them tick. As you have a driver and me as an experienced guide, we can be dropped off and picked up in a different placer a linear walk to maximise your experience. The terrain of the hike will be tailored to your wishes and abilities but, whatever these are, you will walk through the majestic mountains of Snowdonia learning about the geology, flora, fauna and conquest and mountaineering history. We will meet a local farmer who will give us a private demonstration of his working sheepdogs

The driver and I will pick you up from your hotel or railway station - Drive you deep into the Snowdonia National Park having a welsh lesson in a traditional Welsh chapel - We'll visit a slate quarry and learn why the stone doesn't speak English - We'll also visit a farm and watch the sheepdogs working and chat to the farmer learn about the importance of the traditional way of life. - We will get out of the car and walk through the mountains learning about the unique botany and legends -some going back to ancient Celtic times and some more modern heroes. - We'll stop at a cute little cafe for a traditional tea or a country pub steeped in mountaineering history. - Of course there are always the castles and trains and I'll make sure you see them but as an extra rather than the main course of our journey.
