Lviv Coffee and Chocolate Tasting Tour

Lviv is recognized as the capital of coffee and chocolate of Ukraine. The city is full of various coffee shops and is proud of its Lviv Handmade chocolate. During the tour we are visiting Lviv Coffee mine, World of Coffee and Golden Ducat coffee houses and will, of course, taste the chocolate as well as attend some patisseries with Strudels, Cheesecakes, and Sacher-Torte. Ever since its foundation in the thirteenth century, Lviv has been a sweet-toothed city, and from the very beginning, the delicious pastries and chocolate-coated confectionaries formed a key role in the Lviv economy in the Eurasian trade routes of the Medieval period. The city's location on the Silk Route and other great trade roads of the Middle Ages brought its merchants into contact with all manner of exotic sweets, and trade in these sugary delicacies soon became a priority.

We are starting our lovely tour from Your hotel or from the Rynok Square and we'll walk to Armenian street, Catedralna square, Andreolli passage, Serbian street. We'll get to the main avenue and see the bountiful Opera Theatre building. Café culture boomed under the Habsburgs, with many of today's most esteemed bars and restaurants tracing their predecessors back to this formative age. In 1841 visiting Lviv the German writer I. G. Kohl rated the coffee houses and confectioners of the city as more elegant and sophisticated than in his native Dresden or other German cities. The tour will end at Rynok square or at the place most convenient for You.
