Hi there! My name is Juan. I am a licensed official guide in Andalusia, but also I am an art historian: I love historical cities, the evolution of urban life, the ways in which people have understood and inhabited cities. From my professional position as a tour guide, I consider myself fortunate to be able to bring tourists and / or residents to the local culture through the communication of their history and art. I think that in conversation with visitors, a debate is generated around the culture that contributes to making our daily environment a place not only more enjoyable, but also happier. There is also something extra, which is not required for the license: I teach Spanish as a foreign language, so I am used to speaking in a didactic way in the tours. In this sense, I worry about adapting the contents of the visit to the expectations of the travelers, leaving room and time for addressing their interests. And if you want I am happy to customize the tour for you. Please inquire for a quote. licensed official guide in Andalusia I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver. I offer tours only in the languages I refer to in my profile.

Santa Cruz is a maze of narrow streets and quaint, hidden squares. Located close to the powerhouse of the city, the Royal Palace, the district was in Middle Ages the Jewish Quarter of the city, hosting one of the most important communities of Hebrew people in Spain. After centuries of abandon, romantic travellers like the US ambassador Washington Irving (NY, 1783-1859) wandered the streets of Santa Cruz looking for the hidden, essential Sevilla, getting lost and recovering or imagining old stories. So this district, nowadays again inhabited has inspired many legends starring characters that perhaps existed or maybe not, such as Don Juan, the Jew Susona or The Barber of Seville.
- Meeting point in Patio de Banderas Square - Judería Street - Plaza de Doña Elvira - Susona Street, also called "Street of Death" - Plaza de los Venerables - Agua Alley - Santa Cruz Square - Murillo Gardens - Church of Santa Maria la Blanca, former synagogue (from outside, entrance is optional) - Mateos Gago Street, overlooking the cathedral At the end of the tour we'll head to a local tapas bar where each guest will have a tasty meal consisting of 2 tapas with 2 drinks included too. This is a tour proposal. The itinerary can be of course adapted to your interests, so that do not hesitate to contact me for a customized tour.
