Overview of your Seville tour

- The Real Alcázar is the Seville's royal residence and part of the set of sites declared by UNESCO as World Heritage. - Seville was an important city in Islamic Spain and government buildings originally stood on the site of the Alcázar in the 10th and 11th centuries. After the conquest of the city by Ferdinand III of Castile in 1248, the Alcázares became palaces of Christian kings to this day: it is the oldest European royal residence that is still in use today. - After 1492, the palace also hosted the "House of the Ocean", the office that managed the monopoly of trade in Spain with the American colonies. Thus, we will also see rooms and artifacts related to the Age of Exploration. - We will take a tour of its historical apartments, courtyards and gardens. - Setting for many movies and TV shows, the kingdom of Dorne in Game of Thrones was located here! - IMPORTANT INFO: tickets are not included!

We really enjoyed the tour of Alcazar with Juan, and highly recommend it. He gave us a lot of history - which we were looking for. But the way he was giving us those historic facts was fun and engaging. He also is very organized and reliable as a guide. We were able to arrange with him to meet inside the Alcazar, after we visited Royal rooms. Somebody must have not showed up, and the guards pulled us out of the line to let us in earlier than was our time on the tickets, so we finished earlier. And Juan was able to come and meet us a little earlier, even though we didn't expect him. We really appreciated it! It was a great tour!

How fortunate we are to have selected Juan for our guide for the Real Alcazar! He has wonderful energy, a super positive spirit and his desire to share as much knowledge as possible. He has a great knowledge of history and he made it come alive for us. We learned so much. Every part of the amazing Alcazar is now even more profound for us - from the iconography to all the storied woven into the tapestries. Our tour of the Real Alcázar was a true joy from beginning to end. If you are able to book with Juan as your guide, it is worth your effort to seek him out. One of the two most important sites in Seville, Juan presented the Real Alcázar in an engaging as well as very informative way. Between the art history of the buildings and the spectacular gardens, this tour was truly one of highlights of our time in Spain.
