"My childhood are memories of a patio in Seville and a clear garden where the lemon tree ripens. . . " This words by sevillian-born poet Antonio Machado manages to capture the essence of what Seville is: a patio, most likely of hybrid architecture between Arabic and Italian, with fruit trees that make up an intimate garden, which is both a rest and a pleasure for the senses, a place to be and to evoke when you're out of the city. This patio, the scenario of Machado's childhood, remained for a long time a hidden place: you could barely make out through the entrance arch of the place where it is located, the precious urban palace of the Dukes of Alba in Seville. In 2016, when Alba family finally decided to open its residence to the public, I ran to find the patio sung by the poet. My surprise was that not only the patio was worth visiting. Now, I will be delighted to rediscover with you a place that until recently was secret.
