Hi my dear friends! I'm Jon, your cheerful Basque guide from San Sebastián. As a proud native of the Basque Country, I embody the spirit of our vibrant culture—authentic, passionate, and full of energy. Being Basque is a lifelong journey for me, and I embrace it wholeheartedly in both my language (Basque) and lifestyle. I love engaging in outdoor activities like kayaking and fishing, and photography allows me to capture the stunning beauty of our landscapes. Let's explore together! This is what I offer in my tours, some insider and authentic experiences full of passion and energy. I really want you to show backyard of the Basque cities, also moving to the countryside or small fishing villages. I will be able to teach you some Basque words as I'm a native Basque speaker. I also adore eating pintxos, drinking wine, cooking and shopping in the market! My salesmen are as if they were family!! I also like history very much. I would like to live so many key moments at different stages of time . . . . I have worked in many different fields before hospitality: been a chef assistant, baker, adventurer, planting vine, selling local gastronomic products (such as cheese, anchovy, tuna, mushrooms, . . ), driver, reception in luxury hotels, . . . I wanted to be a concierge and ended up being passionate about being a guide already some years behind. It seems that these jobs have nothing in common but if you look, all the above makes sense to form me as a guide. I will teach you about history, gastronomy, best local landscapes and I will lead you through out of crowd places meeting the locals in their daily lives, always enjoying a good local dish teaching you what we eat and how we eat. I will be very happy customizing any tour for you if you feel like you want something different or you are looking for some specific destination or visit. I hear you! I wait for you promptly in the Basque Country Professional Tour Guide in Donostia-San Sebastian. I drive a Mercedes V-Class passenger van Winner of Sustainable Tourism Awards by the Basque Commission of Tourism. Degree on Tourism & Hotel Management (2016) and working in 4-5 star hotels I decided to turn to a tour guide. It goes much better with my skills and personality. English CAMBRIDGE FIRST Certificate Coursing now Sommelier degree 2023-2024 and WSET Diploma DOCa RIOJA "Rioja Wines" 2020 Diploma DOCa RIOJA "Rioja wines for wine tourism" 2020 Diploma Rioja Wine Tasting 2021 Diploma Natural Wines 2021 Chef assistant in some restaurants in Basque Country and Dublin I speak fluent Basque, Spanish and English and quiet well Portuguese. Refreshing my First Aid Course every 2 years. I have travelled over 30 countries and lived in Ireland (2 years) and New Zealand (1year) Ex rugby player and I trained kids for 5 years. I do not give tours inside the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao. But I provide museums guide if you ask for it.

Pamplona, capital of Navarra, founded at 75 BC by Pompeyo was the most powerful territory in Spain until the 11th century. It is an amazing city with its medieval walls, ruins and devotion to San Fermin. A hundred years ago our traditions and the bullfighting festival became tremendously famous in the United States thanks to Ernest Hemingway and now we have the most famous festival in the world. Having the whole tour to visit Pamplona, we will have the time to enjoy most of the interesting places, starting a tour at the museum of the bullfighting arena (which is very interesting even you are not a supporter of the tradition) and visiting the old citadel, the old quarter with its churches, the castle square, Bar Iruña where Hemingway used to be, the medieval wall and lookouts and we will remember the route of the bulls that is celebrated for 7 days during the festival of San Fermin.
Suggested Itinerary: • Visit of the museum of the bullring first. • Relaxing walk through the citadel to see what the best defense the Kingdom of Navarre • Old town visit: monument to the running of the bulls, the neoclassical building of the Palace of Navarre and Gayarre Theatre, the sculpture of Charles III the noble and the beautiful Castle Square, Santa Maria Cathedral and more. • Lunch options at one of the nicest spots in the city, the Caballo Blanco bulwark or Café Iruña. • Finish walking the 849 meters of the running of the bulls with a very exciting explanation.
