This tour is dedicated to those interested in the missionary work of Father Serra. He travelled from Mallorca to California to establish Christian missions, now known as San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Carlos, San Diego, San Antonio, San Luis, San Gabriel, Santa Clara and San Buenaventura. Father Serra was born in the village of Petra, in the heart of Mallorca, and left for America in 1749. We will visit the house where Father Serra was born, explore the museum dedicated to his life, and tour the rural village of Petra. We will then enjoy a panoramic view of the island from the Bonany Sanctuary, where Father Serra delivered his final speech before leaving for America. The village of Petra is a beautiful example of a traditional village in Mallorca, where you can still find the historic restaurant “Es Celler” that have been serving locals for centuries.
