I am Marc Llorens, a specialized guide in history, wines and gastronomy, but before I was a journalist for over ten years. I love learning history and telling stories. That is why I took and completed Journalism studies at Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona in 2001. I also had the happy chance to spend one year at the University of Florence, Italy, and at the University of Monterrey, Mexico. These experiences ignited my passion for travel, other cultures, and other flavors. From that moment, I visited many countries and I finally found one small island that I immediately fell in love with — Gran Canaria. A small piece of land with a wide range of microclimates, unique autochthonous flora, breathtaking landscapes, an impressive history and heritage, high-end local products, and open-minded, friendly people. While I was working as a journalist in Gran Canaria, I became imbued with its history, culture, and food products. It was then I decided to apply for the Official Tourist Guide certificate, awarded by the Government of the Canary Islands. After getting the certificate in 2016, I started working for the most important tour operators, but I felt mass tours just couldn't offer the best personal experiences that I was willing to provide. So, it was during the pandemic that I had the time to stop, specialize in Gran Canaria wines, gastronomy, and local products (coffee, oil, salt, bananas, and cheese)… and I created Personal Tour, starting offering my private tailor-made tours to the very best hotels of Gran Canaria. Since then, dozens of couples and small groups have discovered the best of Gran Canaria through my customized private tours. I also work for journalists and local institutions like city councils or the Gran Canaria Tourism Department. Gran Canaria is full of hidden gems: experience and discover with me the best-kept secrets that this island has to offer!!! Degree in Journalism (UAB University) Official Tourist Guide certificate, awarded by the Government of the Canary Islands Gran Canaria Wine Specialized and Tourist Intermediary of The Gran Canaria Wine Route Associaction (Ruta del Vino de Gran Canaria) Science Politics (Florence University, Italy) Cinema Studies (ITESM Monterrey, Mexico) No restrictions.

Start in Teror, a postcard-perfect village famous for its wooden balconies, cobbled streets, and the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pine, the island’s most important pilgrimage site. Then continue to Arucas, known for its elegant streets and the impressive San Juan Church, carved by hand from volcanic stone and often compared to Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia. You'll also hear stories of the island’s once-booming banana and sugar cane trade, and (on weekdays) visit a local rum distillery (if desired).
