Green Karst - Cycling full day tour

Join me on the discovery of the little known landscapes of the Green Karst, an amazing area of Slovenia, offering such marvels as seasonal lakes, natural bridges and vast forests. Together we will spend the day in the nature, just a short drive from Postojna and I will introduce you to this unique region. I offer this tour because I feel people only briefly visit caves of the area and forget to check the surface. We will be using an electric vehicle to get to the starting point and then hop on bicyles for a beautiful ride. Seasonal lakes appear in the wetter part of the year - between late October and April - and receede during the summer. Our main focus will be the area of Cerknica Lake, which is the largest of them all and it appears every year. It has formed a unique ecosystem and is today a Natura 2000 site because of its incredible diversity. A haven for birds, mamals, butterflies and amphibians is my favourite place to explore on a bike, as the area is mostly flat and we don't disturb the nature.
