It is not easy to really experience DAKAR on your own. If you take a standard city tour, you will see a whole lot but, the DAKAR experience will probably escape you without the expertise of a knowledgeable tour guide to show you hidden spots. Your professional guide will pick you up from a mutually-designated meeting point, then you will be headed to a 3-hour Dakar experience. You get your very own private air-conditioned vehicle and your personal guide every step of the way to give you the history and answer any questions you may have as well. You will be introduced to the city of DAKAR surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean with a blend of historic buildings. We connect with clients and give them the best customer service satisfaction they will ever have on a tour. Oumar was the best. Very professional and the best English speaking guide in all of Senegal. He made us feel welcome, shared personal stories, lots of great facts and was very flexible. I'd highly recommend choosing him if you visit Dakar in the near future.
Omar is both knowledgeable and personable. He leads a wonderful tour. He speaks perfect idiomatic English. Goree island is not an easy place to visit, but it is a place we all should visit.
Good tour. It gives a good overview visit to Goree island, followed by a view of many of the historic sights in Dakar. Oumar has a very engaging personality and uses his 28 years of guiding to make the tour a success.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Oumar of Dakar and Goree Island, and we highly recommended him as a tour guide. Oumar’s thorough and engaging explanations brought the history of this region to life. His English is perfect. He has a very warm, outgoing personality and is quite funny. A highlight of our day was having an authentic Senegalese lunch at a local restaurant. It was delicious.

Oumar created a customized tour for my colleague and me. We toured St. Louis, the Saloum Delta, and the city of Dakar. Oumar (and the driver) made sure that we had a wonderful first experience in Senegal. I appreciated his "insider" knowledge who shared with us the many aspects about Senegal's culture - history, geopolitics, food, customs, music, art, and the many beautiful crafts. We'll begin at 9. 00 AM by leaving the INDEPENDENCE SQUARE and passing through the MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS and seeing the neo-Sudanese style CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. Your DAKAR experience is best told like a story that highlights the historical French architecture, passing through the PRESIDENTIAL PALACE. We will be driving Eastbound to enjoy a splendid view of the OCEAN to the impressive CATHEDRAL stopping for pictures. We will stop at Dakar UNIVERSITY and the MOSQUE OF THE DIVINITY for pictures before traveling through some of the neighborhoods to the AFRICAN RENAISSANCE MONUMENT. ( picture opp. ) After the city tour, we will proceed to the ferry station. A 20-minute ferry ride takes us to Goree island: a small island with a big History in the past. After a brief presentation of the island and its history upon arrival, we will proceed to the SLAVE HOUSE to visit the Door-Of-No-Return through which twenty million Slaves were shipped never to return. Take the ferry back to Dakar and proceed to your hotel
