Explore Kingstown your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Kingstown tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Kingstown for every interest, including:

Nature and Wildlife tours: Hike the Vermont Nature Trail with your guide to spot the brightly coloured St. Vincent parrot and other rainforest birds, then swim beneath the cascades at Dark View Falls. Prefer the sea? Snorkel at Bat Cave near Buccament Bay to watch schooling fish in the shadow of roosting fruit bats.

Layover tours: Get picked up at Argyle International Airport, ride into town for a quick circuit of Fort Charlotte’s cannons and views, and stroll the historic Botanical Gardens to see the parrot aviary before your return. If time’s tight, a short Kingstown Market walk and a hot roti to go makes a stress-free airport-to-airport tour.

Food and Drink tours: Taste your way through Kingstown Market—roasted breadfruit with jackfish, callaloo soup, and fresh cacao—then sit down at a seaside eatery for a plate of coconut bakes and fish. Cap your tour with a Hairoun beer or a spiced rum at a neighbourhood rum shop while your guide explains how breadfruit became a local favourite.

The town centre is walkable for short tours, but hills and heat can add up; public minibuses run often yet can be crowded and informal. For beaches, waterfalls, and the parrot trail, ask your local guide about a chauffeured tour with private transportation.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Kingstown inside and out.

Day trip ideas from Kingstown

Based in Kingstown, you can head out on easy day trips to nearby islands, waterfalls, and coastal pools, and with private tours you can shape the day around beaches, hiking, markets, or quiet viewpoints.

Bequia (Port Elizabeth): Ride the ferry for an hour and step into a laid-back harbour town where you can stroll the Belmont Boardwalk, swim at Princess Margaret Beach, and browse simple craft shops; it suits beach time, casual food stops, and a slower pace without losing that small-island vibe.

Vermont Nature Trail: Walk through cool rainforest to the parrot lookout and listen for the St. Vincent parrot, spot tree ferns, and see valley views; this is a good fit if you like short hikes, birds, and nature photography without a long drive.

Dark View Falls and the Leeward Coast: Follow the coast past black-sand bays to cross the bamboo bridge and swim under twin waterfalls, then add stops at Wallilabou or Cumberland for calm water and coastal views; it works for swimmers, families, and anyone who wants a relaxed scenic drive.

Owia Salt Pond: Up on the windward side, lava rocks form a natural sea pool that stays calm even when the Atlantic is rough, and the village adds strong Carib heritage; pick this if you want unique geology, safe snorkelling, and a look at island life away from the capital.

A private tour with a local guide is the best way to really get to know a place. Skip the crowds, follow your interests, and see a side of Kingstown most travellers miss.
