Hello travelers! My name is Samantha John and I’m a passionate local guide who loves sharing the beauty, culture and hidden gems of our island, from scenic trails and historic landmarks to the best local spots for authentic food & music. I believe travel is about connection, and I’m here to make sure you don’t just see the sights, but truly experience the spirit of Saint Lucia. If you have special interests like photography, history, wildlife, or gastronomy I could craft a personalized itinerary that highlights what you love most. I’d also be happy to share practical tips on local etiquette, the best times to visit hot spots and point out to hidden viewpoints that aren’t always in the guidebooks, ensuring a smooth, enjoyable, and authentic island adventure.

Transform your brief visit into a curated, unforgettable snapshot of St. Lucia’s culture, history and flavours. This compact, half-day experience offers a tipple-tasting stop in a legendary rum distillery in Marigot Bay. But beyond this, you'll learn about Castries' heritage, its foundation and other essential parts of its history, which ended up shaping the capital city that it is today. You will even have the opportunity to observe traditional silk batik methods in action (the way Saint Lucians traditionally create fabric for clothes). I love leading this tour because every time I share the stories and flavours of St. Lucia, I see visitors light up with wonder. There’s nothing more rewarding than to help someone foreign to the island to see see it the way I do every day.
-After we have gathered at an agreed point, we'll drive towards Castries to see its historical highlights, such as its main cathedral, its government building, the Derek Walcott square and the Castries market. -Following this, we'll stop by Caribelle Batik, a prestigious venue famed for its silk-screen printing and vibrant textiles. Here we'll browse through a curated selection of locally made fabrics and gifts. -Afterwards, we'll visit a rum distillery and tour its premises as to learn about the rum-making process. -You'll then get to sample a selection of rums, from white and gold to aged varieties, with a local expert providing commentary on their production process and distinct flavours. -At last, we will say our goodbyes with a convenient drop-off back at your original starting point in Castries.
