Hello ! You can call me Bart. I have lived in Lodz for all my life. I like travelling, foreign languages and history. Lodz as well as Manchester was famous for the biggest textile factories in the 19th century. There are still many interesting places and monuments reminding us about that time. Apart from that the city was a mixture of German, Jewish and Polish culture. It was one of the largest Polish cities and one of the most multicultural and industrial centers in Europe. I would be really happy to welcome you in Lodz and show you around the city. I am sure we will be able to discover all the places which will take us back to the interesting times. Contact me with any questions. I look forward to providing you with a memorable and exciting visit. Master Digree in International Relations I am not allowed to guide in local museums

Overview of your Lodz tour

Lodz is the third biggest city in Poland if we consider population and is located close to Warsaw - about 100 miles. In the 19th century the city experienced rapid growth in the textile industry and in population due to the inflow of migrants. Lodz was very well known for its multinationalism described by Polish Nobel-prize-winning author Wladyslaw Reymont in the novel "Promised Land". After World War I city became one of the most important industrial centers in Europe. During our trip we will discover the unique ghost of the city. We will visit the heart of the city, Piotrkowska street, which is one of the longest, straight roads in Europe. Compared to Krakow, Warsaw or Gdansk, a visit to Lodz will give You a completely different side to the country of Poland Since 2017 Lodz is included in UNESCO Creative Cities Network as a City of Film, which is why I will show You the unique places in the area. I will show You my favorite places in the city, we can discover them together!

Our group very much enjoyed our walking tour of Lodz, as hosted by the very knowledgeable Bart C. Bart was very thorough and able to answer any and all questions that the group had about the various intricacies of the Lodz area. The tour was most enjoyable and we recommend Bart to anyone looking to learn information about the area while experiencing a pleasant walk about town. Thank you!

We had an excellent tour with Bart. He showed us several beautiful churches as well as gave us the history of the city. We had a lovely time walking on Piotrkowska street to get the flavor of the city and a highlight was the Rose Passage. I have never seen anything like it! We enjoyed a Georgian pastry and mulled wine. We also had a visit to the memorial for the Jewish citizens who were put on trains to the concentration camps. It was very moving. I highly recommend Bart for his knowledge and care

An excellent guide WHO gave us a profound understanding of many aspects of the past and present of Łódz. Besides being a very informative and knowleageable guide Bart has a good humor and integrity. Łódz is a very interesting town, so different from the great historical towns of Poland like Krakow, Wroclaw and Gdańsk, and a good guide as Bart really opens your eyes for it.

I had a 4 hour tour with Bart taking in Jewish Heritage of Lodz. Despite the Jewish history being a sensitive subject as regards the war, Bart was an excellent guide and I learned many new facts and angles to the German occupation of Poland. I could not recommend this tour highly enough. As Bart's is fluent in English, he was vey easy to understand.
