Welcome to Chachapoyas, a friendly and quiet city in north easthern Peru! During this tour you will be able to connect with the feeling of being with the cloud forest people and meet their customs, traditions, and meet its varied climate from 1400 to 3000m. Gocta waterfall (771m) is surrounded by miths and legends of local people since the begining as it is covered by forest and far from the Cocachimba town. There is a special sensation when visitors arrive here. During rainy seasonGocta is more breathtaking than during dry season, even though if you love birdwatching it is possible to see some bird species such as green jays, swifts, or the cock of the rocks! As a passionate local guide , I will show you and tell you the mysteries that this place hides . Early in the morning, drive from Chachapoyas to Cocachimba (one hour) - Hike to Gocta waterfall (estimated time to go and come back - five hours) - Free time for lunch (one hour; food not included) - Return to Chachapoyas in the afternoon (one hour) - Timings may vary according to the traveller's requests/interests.
