The recommended pick-up time is 9:00 am since it is a 5-6 hour tour. - We first visit General Yamamoto's Bunker and Rabaul Historical Museum to familiarize ourselves with what we will visit thereafter. - We then travel to Kokopo, the new city established after Rabaul was devastated by the twin volcanic eruption. Along the way, we call in and visit the Japanese Tunnels at Karavia village. - Driving into Kokopo town, we will also pass a lot of Japanese war tunnels which were dug by Indian, Burmese, and Chinese Prisoners of war. We visit the Kokopo Museum and the Bitapaka War Cemetery, an interesting place of significance. - We will have lunch at Gazelle International Hotel to see the steps of Queen Emma, a Tongan Princess who lived at the Gunantabu. Gift and souvenir shops can be visited too. - Travelling back to Rabaul, we drive up to the Volcano Observatory to view the harbor and Peninsula before heading back to Rabaul Wharf. 3:00 pm: Return to Rabaul Wharf The tour concludes, arrive back at Rabaul Wharf.
