Overview of your Merzouga tour
Your desert adventure begins with a private 4x4 pickup from your Merzouga hotel or camp. Leaving the paved road behind, we head off-road along the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Our first stop is M'fis, an abandoned French-era mining village, where you can explore the old lead and coal sites while taking in panoramic dune views. Next, we journey across the desert plateau to visit a local Nomad family. Inside their woven tent, you'll share mint tea and learn about their traditional way of life. We then drive to Khamlia village to experience live Gnawa music, filled with the captivating rhythms of iron castanets and the traditional gimbri. Afterwards, we make a scenic stop at Dayet Srji, a seasonal desert lake known for wild birds and flamingos, before a smooth 4x4 drive back to your hotel or camp.
