After graduating in European Studies from the University of Malta, I pursued a Masters Degree in Diplomatic Studies, earning honours in both. I embarked on a career in tourism and held the post of President of the Malta Union of Tourist Guides for six years. I was also a board member on the European Federation of Tourist Guide Associations and a board director on the Malta Tourism Authority. I am a lecturer of International Relations at the University of Malta; a Tourist Guide Trainer and Examiner at the Institute of Tourism Studies, and an active tour guide (since 1995). I have been honoured to guide Head of States, Ministers, Diplomats and Royal envoys and equally honoured to design and conduct tours for visitors and the general public. Mdina is nicknamed the 'silent city'. It lives up to its name mostly in the evening when the dim lights transform the streets into romantic lanes… The city is an all-time favourite - I love the architectural mix the city offers. . . Mdina is tiny, the entire population in the citadel counts approximately 240 people. Formerly known as the city of Melite, the 'honey' city, this fortress was created by the ancient Romans around two thousand years ago. Erected on one of Malta's highest peaks approximately one hundred eighty meters above sea level, Mdina is the ancient capital city of Malta.
tour program around Mdina and Rabat (visiting the famous Grotto of St Paul; WWII bomb shelters and catacombs); tasting of some traditional Maltese food; afternoon we can visit the UNESCO archaeological park of hagar Qim and time permitting stop at marsaxlokk (or go to Vittoriosa and ride one of the traditional boats around the Grand Harbour). Price for 7 hour exclusive tour (including transfers and services of guide): EUR 895. Lunch; food tastings, boat rides and entrance fees not included.
