Hi, I am Victoria and a licensed tourist guide. I am Maltese, born and bred here and I love these islands with a passion. There is no better way than to explore your way around with a local guide. The pathways between the buildings add to the mystery. I intrigue your curiosity to discover with me the stories told and those written over so many years. Mdina is small but it is a gem of a city surrounded by what is sacred and profane, beyond and behind its military walls, its dungeons, and noble palaces. Yet the stories continue outside these walls. Rabat is a charming old town but with its Roman eerie catacombs, the famous grotto of St. Paul and its underground WWII shelters, these stories were kept alive over the centuries. To add to its rich history the varied architectural styles are mind-blowing and unique. Dates of Public Holidays and religious feasts in this area with decorated streets for the special occasion; St. Paul's - 10th February St Joseph - 19th March St. Joseph The worker - 1st May L-Imnarja 29th June.
Victoria provided us with a wonderful history/culture tour of the cities of Mdina and Rabat. She is a very experienced guide who has many fascinating stories and so much rich information to share. Even more, she is incredibly warm and personable. We so much enjoyed spending time with her and by the end of our tour we felt like we were partying ways with a dear friend. We had the pleasure of touring Malta with Victoria during our family vacation in July, and she truly made our visit unforgettable. Our Mdina/ Rabat private walking tour was the second tour we had with Victoria D. It was equally as outstanding as her walking tour of Valletta. Victoria has an extensive knowledge of Mdina and its many hidden corners and laneways. She shared many stories of the area during our tour. This is your MDINA and RABAT tour Itinerary *This tour starts from "Mdina main gate". easily located on google maps. *Mdina walking tour *Entrance to St. Paul's Cathedral is optional. *We walk to Rabat by Santo Spirito Hospital. *Rabat's main square by St. Paul's church. *We visit St. Catalde's chapel and its eerie catacomb. *A visit to St. Paul's Grotto and the adjacent WWII shelters are optional. *Traditional Maltese sweets tasting from a stall-like setting, similar to the ones vendors place in the streets during our traditional 'Festa'. -End of Tour Mdina looks like an open air museum, whether your visit is by day or by night.
