Welcome to Riga! I grew up in Australia in a Latvian family, and when I came to Riga 25 years ago I fell in love with the place and never left! It's a place of stunning beauty (whatever the season - there are parks galore), fascinating history (did you know the guy who invented blue jeans came from Riga?), intriguing food (try the garlic rye bread or the hemp butter), sensational beer (I'll point you towards the best brewpubs) - and it is a joy for me to share it with visitors from around the world. In my 25 years here, I've worked as a journalist, a translator and for the last six years a tour guide. So telling stories is my thing, and there are lots of amazing ones in Latvia! Overview of your Riga tour

The resort of Jūrmala is right next to Riga, but it's also a unique world of its own. On this exciting tour, we'll discover Jūrmala's exquisite natural beauty as well as its fascinating architecture and intriguing characters. We dive to Kemeri National Park and take a duckboard hike through a remarkable bog landscape. Then wee visit charming, old world Ķemeri Resort, where we climb to the top of the observation tower. We then enjoy a picnic lunch of Latvian delicacies in the resort park. Finally, we take a stroll through the centre of the resort of Jurmala, taking in stunning architecture, beautiful beaches and fascinating stories.

Your Riga tour itinerary

I will pick you up from your hotel in Jūrmala or Riga. We'll drive to Kemeri Bog for a hike, then visit the spa town, where we'll enjoy a picnic lunch. Next stop is the centre of the resort for a walking tour to see traditional timber cottages, a lovingly restored church, the famous Dzintari Concert Hall, an old-time bathhouse and a Soviet sanatorium and much more. Finally, I will drive you back to your hotel in Riga or Jūrmala.
