Overview of your Mombasa tour

Welcome to Mombasa! There is a rhythm to the name itself. You sense an excitement, a musical quality, in the way people talk and move and in the tapping hammers of the Old Town, where craftsmen beat out brass fittings for elaborate caved chests. The odors of scent, dust, coffee, and camphor wood hang in the air of this torrid and humid island city linked by causeways to the west, ferry services to the south, and the Nyali bridge to the northern coast. A huge double arch made of four sheet-metal tusks spans Moi Avenue as a welcome gateway to visitors coming into town from Kilindini Harbor or the port of Mombasa. This symbol of the wealth of Africa was erected in 1952 in honor of a British royal visit. Nearby, Uhuru Gardens (freedom) Fountain is built in the shape of the African continent. If you visit Mombasa you must engage Ronald M to be your guide! Ronald (and his very capable driver) gave us a wonderful full day tour of Mombasa, seeing all the key sites and some hidden gems. His vehicle is very clean and extremely comfortable. Great air-conditioning for a very hot city! Our tour included lunch in a fantastic restaurant right on the water's edge. We really enjoyed the chance to learn about Kenyan food, culture, religion, history........ Ronald anticipated and answered our many questions. Most importantly, we experienced a warm welcome to Kenia and now have a friend there.

Firstly I am so sorry that TBL took so long to update new site-Ronald was fantastic with us on this tour-He more than exceeded his commitment to a First Class tour. We enjoyed the fort, museum and related stops. Luncheon venue could not have been better and finally a great gemologist. We would return to him in a heart beat-Thank you

The Mombasa city tour will start at our meeting point, which can be at the port or the railway terminal. Thereafter, we shall proceed to the town's attraction sites. Below is a short description of the itinerary. * Mombasa's landmark (the elephant tusks). * Fort Jesus plus a walk in the old town. *The spice market. *The Hindu temple. * The Akamba wood carvings. * Lunch between 12:00-13:00.(Inclusive) - After lunch, depart for Haller Park (a wild animal conservation area where we shall be in a position to see the giraffes, hippos, & crocodiles) or visit Bombolulu Handcraft, Souvenir & Gifts Shop. - Or a shopping tour: Discover the best places for souvenirs, gifts, and  Jewelry shopping in Mombasa. * Between 17:00-17:30, drop off at the port or airport terminal.
