If you have more than 4 hours before your flight at Narita airport, you should visit Naritasan Shinshoji temple, and experience Japanese culture. It's a time-honored temple with a history of over 1000 years. In my opinion, it's the best temple in Tokyo region with great traditional buildings, beautiful Japanese gardens and Japanese food. Here, I can tell almost everything about Japanese couture and traditions to you. I can make your layover time in Japan more enjoyable and fruitful !!
10:00am Meet at Narita Airport, JR or Keisei Narita station. - Naritasan Shinshoji Temple. The time-honoured temple has a history of over 1000 years. There are five buildings designated as important cultural properties. A Goma Fire Ritual is a must-see. More than one million people visit this temple on new year's day for praying. - Omotesando (Shopping Street) Omotesando street lasts approximately 800m from Narita station to the temple. There are more than 150 restaurants and souvenir shops along this street. Let's fully enjoy traditional Japanese food, drink and souvenirs. Especially, grilled eel dish is a must-eat. - Naritasan Japanese Garden. Behind the temple, there is a beautiful Japanese garden. You can enjoy plum flower in February, cherry blossom in March and autumn leaves in November. - Japanese Kimono and Tea Ceremony Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, you can try beautiful Japanese Kimono with 800Yen.
