Hello! Thank you for reading my profile. My name is Hitomi. I lived in foreign countries for over 8 years, such as US, Canada, France, Australia, Singapore and Spain. I love traveling like you do. Besides traveling, I enjoy drawing, painting, cycling, cooking and eating delicious food! I was born in Kagoshima, grew up in Miyazaki and now live in Fukuoka(all in Kyushu island!). What I love about Kyushu island is that people are friendly, it's not too crowded and the nature is beautiful. And most importantly the food is delicious! We have fresh fish, seafood, meat and so many kinds of delicious dishes! I got my guide license in 2017 and I've been working as a guide since. I love this job because I get to meet people from all over the world. Learning new languages and getting touch with other cultures inspires me. Overview of your Karatsu tour
Karatsu is located in the northwest of Kyushu, it has flourished since ancient times as a gateway to China and Korea. We first visit Former Takatori residence which was built in the Meiji period(about 120years ago). It has the characteristics of modern Japanese architecture, combining Western-style rooms with a Japanese-style base. It also has a Noh stage in the main hall. Then we visit Karatsu shrine, Hikiyama exhibition(beatiful floats for Kunchi festival) and Karatsu castle(only from outside). For lunch, we go to Niji-no-Matsubara pine grove and have a special hamburger from Karatsu. After lunch, we visit a pottery place. Karatsu is also known for Karatsu-yaki pottery. We also visit to see Nobori-gama ruins means climbing kiln which was used during the Edo period. You can buy cups and dishes if you find anything good in the shop. *If you prefer, we can go up a mountain called Kagamiyama instead of pottery place. You will see the magnificent view of the city.
