Hi, I’m Yoshi, please call me Yoshi. “Yoshi” means “OK” in Japanese. I was born in Miyagi prefecture of Tohoku, and I had been working for Japan’s Civil Aviation Bureau as a flight inspector for a long time, so I am familiar with all airports and around areas throughout Japan. Tohoku is a region in northeastern Japan, famous for its beautiful, peaceful and powerful nature all year round: Spring: Cherry blossoms bloom beside rivers, mountains and old castleys. Summer: Fresh green forests, clear lakes and cool mountain air. Autumn: Mountains turn red, orange and gold with autumn leaves. Winter: Deep snow creates magical landscapes and hot springs. Tohoku also has preserved many traditional festivals, crafts and customs: colorful summer festivals with music, dancing, and lanterns; traditional handmade crafts, such as lacquerware and textiles; historic samurai towns, shrines and temples; Tohoku’s food uses fresh local ingredients from the mountains, fields and sea; seasonal vegetables, rice and seafood; warm comfort foods for cold winters; traditional dishes passed down through generations; simple, healthy, and full of natural flavor — this is the taste of Tohoku. Of course, there are lots of high-quality SAKE, Beer and Whiskey in Tohoku! So far, in addition to bus tours at ports across the Tohoku region, I have guided international visitors to Hakodate in Hokkaido, Kyoto and Kagoshima Prefecture. I have also experienced as an interpreter at the Memorial Museums in Tohoku for Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. Let’s enjoy an unforgettable journey through Japan together!
